Only if you're the one following the herd instead of taking the initial risk.

Not only do I feel Tiger Direct is only accepting Bitcoin to solely make money, especially when they are featuring GPUs and Butterfly Labs, they are helping Butterfly Labs scam newbies.

That miner will break even in 1 year IF difficult doesn't rise. Newbies being scammed left and right is starting to give Bitcoin a bad name. Especially with D-List brand names are complicit. This kind of stuff isn't going to get a reputable company like Amazon to accept it.

I predict another scammy company, Newegg, to come next further increasing bad behavior. They're already selling "Mining Bundles."

Bitcoin IS NOT about mining. They are perpetuating that Bitcoin is a gold rush and to make money only. Not many people are making money mining. If I had never mined and just bought Bitcoin, I'd be 1000x richer.
I'd be willing to bet that TD is like other big sites in that if you didn't order it from them, they don't allow a review.  I see things on Amazon all the time that I have bought elsewhere and try to do a review on only to have it never show up.

I do not suffer fools gladly... "Captain!  We're surrounded!"
I embrace my inner Kool-Aid.

^this. also, TD knows that this is a new, sensitive category. They do not want 'the internet trolls' to come through and leave a ton of shitty reviews on a product they do not purchase

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461

What are you smoking? I've been shopping at Newegg for over a decade now and have nothing but positive things to say about them. They have good prices (and sometimes great deals), most items have free shipping (even for inexpensive items), and the two times I had any issues (one with shipping damage and one with hardware not meeting rated spec) they did everything right when it came to resolving the problem.

Newegg is fucking awesome.

They were until they put together scammy bundles for xbox one and playstation 4. Who the hell wants to buy an overpriced digital camera to get a playstation??

The eggpoints is a fraud. I've done many orders and still 0 points.

They betrayed v.me for masterpass who I despise.

I forget other reasons.

You hit the nail on the head when you said... "I could have made more just buying bitcoins, instead of mining them." (Rough quote.)

That one reason is what keeps future sales of miners low. Not because they are not worth the money. Because they are not worth the money to "us". Until the market actually offers a fair price, and stops mining on our dollar that they took for creating personal farms... (Free loans.) Then we will always make more by buying the coins directly. (Which, on a sad note, supports them more than us now, thanks to us.)

What is the solution... Well, we could all just screw them over and cash-out before they can. Once they go bankrupt paying bills, we fire-up our machines again, and raise the value back up. (Once they have sold-off all assets to get themselves out of the hole that they made us dig for them.)

Wasn't that the purpose of the coins in the first-place... To stop the rich from getting more rich, by them screwing-over the little guys. There are more of us than there are of them. Does not take much to show them who is the real boss of value.

The higher the price goes, the more they take from us, using less and less acquired assets and losses. (They sell only a fraction of their abundance, to gain the majority of our abundance.)
