After much frustration with exchanges I built http://www.cointouch.com/ to find friends of friends that want to trade bitcoins. Add bids or offers, spread from MtGox / CoinDesk price, and the site shows an order book derived from your extended social network. All major world currencies supported. Other altcoins coming soon
The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

CoinTouch now prices all major altcoins. Want to sell DOGE, or buy LTC? Don't pay exchange fees. Don't deal with strangers. Use CoinTouch to find friends of friends, and deal directly, fee-free:

Understood.

The only facebook data requested by CoinTouch is your name and friend list (names and ids), which is generally public information anyway. No need to provide your email address, or to enable access to your newsfeed or posting privileges.

I deliberately minimise the permissions requested by CoinTouch.

Coming soon is Google and LinkedIn support, and then adhoc connections via one-time URLs.

Yeah it just asks for your public profile and friends list, so no real important 'secret' information shared.

I signed up, don't have any friends on it yet though to try it out with.

This is a great concept with a few more cool features would make it really work in P2P!

BTW, if you're trading there you can add a friend of mine http://facebook.com/iKcul
