Ledger Nano S is the safest way to hold your coins. There are alternatives to the ledger. Trezor, digitalbitbox, keepkey.
But, the best among them is ledger nano s.

Ledger nano s is the most used one among the hardware wallets, but how can you say it is the safest one? I don't know technical details of these wallets but don't think they are different too much.

Trezor and ledger nano is best hardware wallet in current scenario but if you expecting low cost you should by Trezor. Both are same configuration and more secured wallet but ledger nano is first position and Trezor is second position so you should choose your convenient wallet. All the wallet are secured in current trend because two steps security is improved in many wallet.
