Our Solution : The Fr8 Protocol
The Fr8 Protocol defines the four necessary components a shipping, credit, or
insurance contract must contain — for any stakeholder in any region. Clear standards
 enable new efficiencies and capabilities for logistics systems worldwide.

Data Standards
Communication standards create a single source of truth regarding a shipment's location,
state, and contents for coordinating multi-party workflows. Documentation standards shift
 the marketplace away from costly physical paper and into the digital era.

Payment Standards
Bitcoin showed the capacity of blockchain technology to transfer value programmatically.
 The Fr8 Protocol for settlement defines payment terms that are enforceable across the
 instances of applications built using the Fr8 Protocol.

Regulatory Standards
Regulatory bodies publish embargoes, tariffs, customs requirements, and more at intervals
 that make it very challenging to remain compliant. Fr8 Protocol
 enables baking this data into the base level of contracts.

Cybersecurity Standards
Fr8 Protocol defines how information systems interact with the blockchain
 requiring different levels of encryption for messages passed to a smart contract.

Origins
Fr8 Network was born from a successful, pre-existing distribution business that
 shipped over $1B in freight over the past 15 years.
 The Fr8 team experienced first-hand the deep inefficiencies of the trucking market:

Shippers struggle to find available carriers while trucks drive almost
 30B empty miles every year. One-third of capacity is wasted
 but businesses struggle with a shortage of drivers!
 The U.S. Trucking business alone is a $700B industry.

Margin is compressed by intermediary brokers who extract fees of $100B
 per year for matching supply and demand by hoarding valuable data on
performance and pricing - A rich target for disruption.

The Fr8 Token
The Fr8 ERC-20 Token speeds up payment remittances, ends double
 spending problems, and incentivizes fragmented stakeholders (shippers, carriers, and brokers)
 to use smart contracts. It can be used to stake transactions, drive efficiency and get

Following an eventful Blockchain Week in NYC, the Fr8 Network team flew to Atlanta, Georgia to attend and present at Transparency 18. We were pleased to have CEO Sloane Brakeville and Director of Engineering Barry Glasco showcase our end-to-end shipping solution — a working MVP that is live on the Ethereum blockchain, with transactions verifiable through Etherscan (something few blockchain companies are able to prove).
