Get it.? Yes yes I can backup wallet.dat but thats stupid that means every day when  a new transaction is done or added i loose that in my wallet dat if I dont back it up every day after new transaction.  Do then you say thats the point of the private key? 1 backup for life. Blockchain cloud data

well with the latest version of multibit... I goto export key! I then install multibit on my other computer and then press Import Key and rest blockchain and transactions,

Stuck at 12 % EVERYTIME and I MEAN EVERY EVERY TIME FKK .. driving me nuts such a simple thing wasting so much of my time

First of all, Multibit doesn't use wallet.dat. It uses a different format called multibit.wallet.

To do a backup, you copy this file and save it where you most like (preferably an offline device). You don't need to import/export keys, as that's a more advanced function.

Also, in Multibit, you only need a new backup when you generate a new address. I suggest you generate many (100 or more, depending on how frequently you receive money), and then do a backup of that. That way you won't have to worry to make more backups (at least for a long time).

This date is the one of the first transaction in your addresses. What you've seen in other posts is that if Multibit is behaving weird, then you should reset the blockchain (it's an option in the menus, I don't remember exactly where). It will ask you for the date, and then you enter 1 or 2 days before your first transaction.

Scenario1 = I have saved my wallet dat on the 23rd of nov EG; on the 13th/jan 2014 My hard drive dies ANd MIraculously the the USB dies in a blaze of fire.

How do I retreive my wallet?

Wrong. Tried this, Freezes again doesnt do anything rest blockchain doesnt ask for a date.

If both your hard drive and your USB die, then you can't retrieve your wallet. It's your responsiblity to keep a backup, at least until Multibit HD is released (which then you will only need to remember 12 words and you will be able to recover it).

A paper wallet stores your public and private key, but it's and advanced feature, and very easy to mess up with. If you plan to use paper wallets you should consider using a program other than Multibit. Multibit is meant to be simple and straightforward.

No. The wallet stores your private keys. As I said, if you generate 1000 keys and then you make a backup then you don't have to worry until you decide to create more keys.
All your bitcoins are stored in the blockchain, so you won't lose them if you have a backup from today and then you receive bitcoins tomorrow (in one the addresses you already have).

AHHHH So If I decide to save my wallet the key is inside my wallet and when I am on a new computer and I have multibit wallet saved from weeks ago. I open this wallet on the bew computer and it will have ALL my trasactions up untill today not the day I saved it .

It will take up to 15 minutes to retrieve the latest transactions, but besides that, yes, they are interchangeable.
