This is just hilarious move from ripple. I have seen people saying about teaching blockchain in universities. But ripple's move to fund research to somehow improve the blockchain technology is just super. I bet this would probably boost ripple's popularity and attract more investors.

The new generation have to know about how blockchain works and more of it, to become developers. Blockchain is a great addition to one's business and by understanding how it works will give these investors a confidence that this tech is what we need.

Yeah I'd love to see blockchain and crypto more in education, I think that's one of the first steps we have to take before adopting cryptocurrency as the single currency.

I agree that giving away money is good. But don't forget, they didn't give money, they gave XRP tokens which they created from thin air. Anybody can do that, and if you think about it, this is almost similar to dumping. This is tokens NOT yet in circulation, if they give it and the unis all sell to get cash which they will need for their research (unless researchers don't mind getting paid in XRP), the market for Ripple will slump. Already fell 10% actually after this news.

Never really been a good fan of ripple, but this is quite some generous move and an interesting one. It is good the team is really trying to make impact to at least improve the research done in universities in the aspect of blockchain and that is an important thing for the growth of the space. I still do not feel cool with the idea of centralization, but I truly applaud them on this one.

But at least they still did give, since what they have given do have some values created by its community anyway. Apparently, I do not expect the universities to keep holding the ripple without converting into fiat, unless there is a clause attributed to the giving we do not know about.

That could be good news for the whole XRP holders here. I guess this will help grow the popularity of the XRP in the news, local paper, and aired in the TV's. This will rise the popularity surely and thus it may help the ripple community to grow its investment. But I always see one drawback with the ripple. The ripple is having unlimited emission of their coins and thus what they are giving away really is very small amount of their economy. Also dont forget guys that XRP is giving away our investment from their cartels.  

Hope that they dont let us down in the meantime by giving away everything. They must stop the emission of XRP at some point to grow the demand of it and rise the prices.
