Like the topic says, want to hear what people are looking for a in a pool.  I'm one of the operators and Blockminter and we want to be able to build out what the community wants in terms of a pool experience.  We would be interested in hearing both what you look for in a pool today as well as anything you'd like to see in a pool that may not be offered by any pools today.

Ease of use.
Stability.
Low fees.
Responsive operators (and if they have a cool Avatar like DrHaribo that's a bonus).
Merged mining.
Remote monitoring and ability to restart from anywhere.
Automatic payout.

I like a clean looking GUI with tweak-able settings that have pop up directions.

Just a few

Sounds like the things I also want.I want to be able to use merged mining with my Ant miner ASIC so I can get coins from different currencies with same hashrate.I also want those other coins to be automatically converted into BTC for me like Ozcoin used to do for me,so I can actually get a decent return with the hashrate I've got. Add 0% fee and you have the ideal pool aka ghash.io. It's obvious why so many people went mining there. Other big *cough* pools should take notes .

I want a nicely designed website for once ala ghash.io , and the ability to cash out any amount below 0.001 (as well as everything mentioned above - merged mining!)

Thanks for the feedback everyone.  Good stuff to consider.  Didn't hear much mention of an auto switcher / profit switching algorithm.  I realize everyone is in it for different reasons but is that because you dont think those algorithms are usually very good or you just prefer to maintain that level of control yourself?

Low variance (predictable payouts). I can't rely on "in the long run everything will even out".

That would be perfect and that's the reason it won't exist but still the best pool is the pool which is closer to what _Miracle have written. So, you have like an components of ideal one - now you can make at least close to it.

Don't let me be misunderstood.

I want payout stability, at least in the short term. Sorry but I'm just being selfish. Wink

PPS is the still the best payout scheme for this. Here's a comparison I made of currently-active PPS pools payouts. http://1drv.ms/1cbd4Xa
