Hi. I'm researching how the crypto rich spend their money. Obviously I could just use the blockchain explorer but it's handy if I can ask queries based on the transactions.

I'm also intrested in why they don't invest in start-ups projects or private placements like I understand the US investors do. Crypto investors have a similar risk profile to angel investors so what accounts for that?

If I was going to Airdrop I'd just pull the data off blockchain.info .
I literally can't pretend I have that much crypto and neither can you. The protocol doesn't allow it. If you sign a message with your wallet, anybody can verify that you have the private key to the wallet without it.

When you say "sign a message on the blockchain for me" (if you meant on your behalf) and if the message itself says: "you own the address that you signed the message from (even if it's not yours)", then nothing stops you (for pretending).

That's not the correct way to post a signed message (nobody gives only the "signature" when they sign a message, [Address, Message and Signature]). I suggest to read the following thread: How to sign a message?!

Who would be the one to do such request? Research? I dont think so. I had read up some similar request recently which do ask for a signed message having a big balance or holding in their wallet.Its obvious on where this signed message would be used to.I completely agreed on the things said above by SFR. You can pretend that you do own that balance which can really be used on fooling someone or for the benefit on scamming someone since you can able to convince him with those informations given out to you and also why would i give such request? what would i gain?

Now, I can see he is a miner and he had 42 BTC and his last transaction was 0.16 BTC. I can set up a watching wallet if I want too on all accounts that have transacitons with that address. However I can't pretend to be him can I? Because everyone else has it. It looks like the stake my signature thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996318.0 meets my needs.

If it was an airdrop(it's not) wouldn't you just fork like BCH then while you have 51% send whatever mining and (transactions) you like, then annouce the fork? Why would you need the signature? What would it matter, if they had the adress they would have airdrop

Hampsher and SFR10 I challenge you to prove that you own the adress above if it is so easy. I would do the resarch, just like I did in the example here. You wouldn't gain anything at all.

Ah, I see the confusion. No I didn't mean on my behalf, I meant sign a message (using your own text) on the block chain. Or stake your signature. Your right it is not the same,I got the similar items n mixed up. Between the stake my signature thread and blockchain explorer I should have everything I need. What I want to do now is verify that a staked SIG belongs to the same person. Its newbie posts on this forum claiming to be Zakir as long as he has his bitcoin address it should be possible for me ti validate.it right?

Reading that airdrop which also requires signing suggests a worrying approach to scammers, pretending to own a bitcoin rich address. Though I'm  not sure what the value of pretending to own one to scammers is beyond wasting sellers time as tire kickers.

That's my point (highlighted part). If you ask them to sign a message on your behalf and they do it, then you can easily pretend (it's quite simple but you're mixing it up with something else).

That method "you quoted", is "PGP". It's not the same as "signing a message using a BTCitcoin address [the one that you were asking]" (a bit similar but it's different).
