How should we handle those kind of posts (OPs for new topics, mostly) where the user copies a sentence from an article and after (s)he posts the link to the original article?
It's not a copypaste, so it cannot be reported that way.
This is not the whole article, which has been quoted, so the post cannot move to Press, because in the Press section, there's the whole article and after the discussion about it (if any).

There are several posts like this in the Bitcoin Discussion thread daily, e.g.:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4414774.msg39305546#msg39305546
Deutsche Börse has come out to say that they have a big plan towards adopting bitcoin. The German stock exchange.....

https://coincalender.com/german-stock-exchange-deutsche-borse-says-they-are-deep-at-work-on-bitcoin/

This is from a newbie with 7 activity, but there are several users who post daily 10 or more similar new topics in Bitcoin Discussion (and nothing else, or maybe just some similar stuff in the Altcoin Discussion too), to gain activity...
This is quite disturbing when you are looking for decent topics (if any) in the Bitcoin Discussion, because you have to run thru 7-9 pages daily...

Is it possible to restrict at least e.g. the Bitcoin Discussion thread itself to member rank and up? (to open topics, I'm not talking about posting now) Newbies would have plenty of room elsewhere to spam with new topics...

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

I also asked this a few weeks ago.

Some people said that if that's all the user does (his whole post history consists of this kind of posts), you should report it and tell the mod to look at his post history.

They would just move to a different board (and start spamming it). Then, we would need to restrict the other boards, until there is none left.

For example this user: rrs1404 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2046492)

Posting similar contents almost everyday ===> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;threads;u=2046492;sa=showPosts

It's not plagiarism, but it can usually be reported as low-content.

Summary or part of an article followed by a link should be restricted to the press section only.
Bitcoin + altcoin discussion should deal with the rest (Discussion not 1 sentence).
For the restriction to certain rank (to open topics not for posting ofc), i think it should be done for the bitcoin discussion (not in its subs)+ economics and speculation +/- altcoin discussion +/- speculation (Altcoins).

In addition, the press section needs to have a clear title format [YYYY-MM-DD] or [YYYY-DD-MM] not both or even [MM-DD-YYYY] [DD-MM-YYYY] sometimes, it is very confusing, others don't care at all and post without a format + i also call for temp restriction for posting in press starting from 1 week for people making duplicated posts. Sometimes i find the same news posted differently, at least mods respond generally and delete it.

Edit : fixing date format.

Here is another one:
d-unknown
His topics history
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;threads;u=93053;sa=showPosts

AND his usual posts are different:

Keplertek : Bringing AI and Robotics on Blockchain

https://coingape.com/kepler-technologies-ico-review/

I usually report those as low-quality topics and they get deleted. I'll start to add some extra explanations in the reports so that the mods might nuke them all in one instance.

Thanks, I'll use this topic for further reference.

Another question:
Is it still possible to delete a locked thread, if the OP is this kind of low-content?
If not, it seems that one of the users who was doing this kind of spam has got wind of this reporting thing (realized that most of the spam topics has been deleted) and locked a spam topics after a few replies to protect the post count...
