Without this open threat what would've been the ETA for the fix? And what would be the expected fall out if someone performed the attack without announcing it beforehand?

Without this open threat what would've been the ETA on the fix? Nobody knows. And what would be the expected fall out if someone performed the attack without announcing it beforehand?
Namecoin would be as close to being dead as a cryptocoin can be (that doesn't mean "really dead" though)

Namecoin would be as close to being dead as a cryptocoin can be (that doesn't mean "really dead" though) Why? The original blockchain could just be restored after the attack is over.

Nothing would have been done to fix it and and refer to Solidcoin to answer your second part. I understand your point of view (or at least i think i do); and i'm not saying you're lying nor wrong nor anything like that; but i would like to hear from others. Without knowing the technical details nor the personalities of the key figures involved, i have the intuition what you did resulted in more good than harm, and things are better now than if you hadn't acted like you did, and also that your intent was to make things better for everyone (you included of course); but i would like to see what others have to say about this, i wanna see if others also recognize you and your actions as i do, and what arguments the other parties have for and/or against your actions, i wanna see how their conclusions compare to mine and yours.

Nice sig. If bitcoins go to $100 before x-mas I suspect there will be a lot of cashing out for x-mas expenses, parties, and gifts. it won't stay there very long.

6: Your alternate personality Lanie Grace told you not to. 7: You actually couldn't attack your way out of a paper bag. 8: You're too busy organising trade shows for Lexus while chatting to your "friends" at Apple who can pull a site off Google at ANY TIME! Basically you're full of shit and always have been.
