[2018-06-05]President Museveni Embraces Blockchain Technology in Africa

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni welcomed the use of Blockchain Technology with the aim of boosting the economy in Uganda and the whole of the African continent.

Museveni noted this during his speech at the inaugural Africa Blockchain Conference held on May 23rd and 24th at Kampala Serena Hotel that brought together academia, policymakers, entrepreneurs, industry leaders and blockchain maniacs from over 20 countries. Ameenah Gurib Fakim, former president of Mauritius also attended in person this conference.

Gradually the adoption of  blockchain technology in Africa will be accomplished in a very shortest period of time, south Africa had really made an impact already and had been in forefront sustaining it now Uganda is coming on board having blockchain endorsed by the president, the conference host  Kwame Rugunda and chairman Blockchain Association of Uganda had highlighted the benefits of this technology across all the sectors of the economy if potentially harnessed and how it going to boost the country economy I hope other African countries will follow suit.
