Locked this topic. new topic :  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4429012.0

Also verified account ownership using my marketplace

Hi there, it seems that my account has been locked by an admin last week.

I have not posted since March 2018.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=307514

Has this ever happened to anyone ? What's the point of this ?

I'm pretty worried, if there has been a security breach into this account, then my computer might have been compromised too.

Thanks for your understanding and have a nice day,

Could be because of multiple reasons. The best you could do is probably contact an admin, and probably prove that you're actually the owner of that account you linked; by signing a message using the bitcoin wallet you stated on your account.

EDIT: yo take a look at the signature section of your account:

Not sure if that's actually legit lol. It says theymos(bitcointalk admin) but it's domain is "theymos.e4ward.com". I honestly don't know about that.

Holy F. shit . That's actually scary. I run a fairly large Bitcoin luxury marketplace, god knows who the hell they might scam with this account.

Granted BTCtalk staff don't have a phone number, I have no idea how to proceed now I guess I'll just start DMing random staff members.

It's legit domain of theymos, but it's not clear, was that message in signature was posted by him.
OP, try to contact theymos, probably he will ask you to send him a signed message from your staked Bitcoin address (I hope you've posted your Bitcoin address somewhere on Bitcointalk). If he will be able to verify message, he will unlock account. But unfortunately, this proccess can took few months or even more.
P.S. How did you managed to upload birthday cake image in to your profile?

the email address is legit but this is the first time I see a locked account with notice in its signature space
is this some kind of new system implemented by theymos? people would easily notice which account getting locked

P.S. How did you managed to upload birthday cake image in to your profile?
if he set today's date as his birthdate, the birthday cake will be shown on his profile automatically

Well I got similar notice half year ago. Wrote to that address and got a response that I need to wait for a ban lift a little bit and everything is ok since then.

This is exactly why I was ever so slightly skeptical. Pretty weird place to put a "contact me" message as even a person who stole an account can put a similar message on to the account's signature area.

And also, I didn't have an idea on what e4ward was. Was expecting more of "theymos@bitcointalk.org" or "admin@bitcointalk.org" or something along those lines.

Thanks for your understanding and have a nice day,

I saw this type of ban first time.I think you should wait for guidance of legendary or staff members.

If you do get the answer ,then you can pm to Cyrus ,theymos about your problem. They will definitely resolve your problem.

Well, waiting is obviously going to accomplish nothing as it very clearly say in the message that OP should contact theymos. Tongue

Try moving this thread in to the Meta section, where it actually belongs to.
You can find the "move" button in the lower left corner.
You will have a higher chance there to get the needed attention.
Good luck.
