Hello Ddmr, I have a small question if you don't mind. Why was nullius included as Old Era Newbie and my account as New Era Newbie? Just because he received (I guess) an airdrop of merits and I didn't? I am asking because we both created our profiles before the merit system. However, if there is a difference between us, it's that I didn't use my profile before October 2019 (excepting a very few posts), thus I was still newbie at that point in time. Somehow, "by the book", my account is also an Old Era Newbie, but "by the facts" it is a New Era Newbie.

It’s something related to a stand-alone analysis I did some time ago, where I used that notation, and since the Merit Dashboard includes some of these analysis, the terminology and subjacent calculus stuck. The distinction I make here is as follows:

Note: New Era Newbie: First Merit >= 17/09/2018; Old Era Newbie: First Merit < 17/09/2018.

The origin is therefore as cited above, and derived from the times the 1 Merit requirement was introduced to become a Jr. Member.
