Someone must have put a nice big rig on it  Wink

How to solo mine The REAL Altcoin

Get your altcoin.conf file to be like this:

Code:
rpcuser=lol
rpcpassword=cat
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=9527
daemon=1
server=1
# you also might want this:
addnode=188.165.216.59

Restart the client (-qt or d, does not matter)

Run bfgminer:
Code:
bfgminer -o http://localhost:9527 -u lol -p cat --coinbase-addr YOURADDRESS

Might be the same for cgminer, I don't know.

Donations accepted: 1PonZioHc2gKHhSx3mbXD2tfahJh2vefSi (for Altcoin, not Bitcoin, though both will work I guess)

Wow!  I just solo mined 17 blocks with my CPU

Can't believe I'd ever say this but the difficulty is too high. Blocks don't get through right now Tongue

edit: I mean low... geez, needed to get some sleep!

I should have gotten into Bitcoin back in 1992...

Why should you mine (and hoard) Altcoin?

1. Unique Value Proposition - Altcoin is the first alternative to Bitcoin that serves a purpose: to simplify the entire Altcoin market and allow everyone to finally focus on ONE coin.

None of your points make any sense. What is the value of mining this coin over any other coin?
Whats the difference between everyone dropping every other coin to only mine this coin and everyone mining lets say dogecoin?

All of your points in the OP have no valid arguments in them. No one wants another SHA256 coin unless they have an ASIC or some block erupters lieing around. Even then, there are more interesting SHA256 coins with actual features to mine.

The difference is that you'd be mining the wrong coin.

All altcoins are altcoins, but only one altcoin is Altcoin.

Dogecoin's logo is ugly anyway. Yeah, I said it.

It's not ugly, it's just stupid. And fat.

You failed to read between the lines. This thread is satyrical genius. the comedy is the way it mocks the "sales pitch" of 99% of the altcoins released lately. Its poking fun at how obvious the scams are, and the fact the only people mining these new coins for the most part is the scammers and their sock puppets.

My negative trust rating is reflective of a personal vendetta by someone on default trust.

I'm going to mine this for some unknown reason...... but did you just buy and make a generic coin or did you sift though coins that are in the pending/verified list.....?

I'd really like to know..

source code?   github?

Psst!!  Wanna make bitcoin unstoppable? Why the Only Real Way to Buy Bitcoins Is on the Streets. Avoid banks and centralized exchanges.   Buy/Sell coins locally.  Meet other bitcoiners and develop your network.   Try localbitcoins.com or find or start a buttonwood / satoshi square in your area.  Pass it on!

Just download the wallet from the link, make your .conf file as usual and add the node addnode=188.165.216.59 to the .conf

I sent an email to bluematt to obtain the source code so I can share it.

Working on getting a website up at TheRealAltcoin.org too.
