Nurse In Hand Emergency Response is a technology, web and mobile based solution. We have a vision to offer road emergency services to the Kenyan public, starting with public service vehicles then to the general market.

This will be possible through establishing Emergency Care Centres along our highways, major roads and other key areas, as geo-mapped, to reduce the response distance and response time.

The Emergency Care Centres will also house paramedics, crucial lifesaving equipment like safety belt cutters, vehicle cutters, organic fire extinguishers and others.

Through our Nurse In Hand Emergency Response, web and mobile solution, an alert is sent from either a mobile phone, USSD code or from a crash-alert device.

This device is fitted in public service and private vehicles that triggers an immediate response to locate the vehicles and save lives.

This method can effectively improve the rescue time. I also hope that such measures can be taken, but to complete such a condition requires a lot of manpower and financial resources. I think there are not many regions that can now do these things!

I like this idea. If at the moment there is something similar in cars, then soon such a system will be available to everyone.

It is very cool. The films show how fast the rescue service comes. But in reality, it does not always work like in films. There are difficulties with finding a person who is in danger, there are so many questions that are asked by the operators of the rescue service. I myself called and was discouraged by the fact that I had to answer ten clarifying questions. I think this project would be launched in real life will save more than one life. Sometimes it is the minutes that determine whether the person will survive or not.

Great idea, i will help a lot of people need of emergency medical attention, who ever had this idea is really looking forward to use the technology addressing the issue on  emergency. in some cases, medical response team encounter delays in responding due to delayed call on medical emergency, it could also help by more effective of way of calling medical help any given situation.Great idea, i hope people in the government look into the way of improving the implementation to a greater numbers of area to address medical emergency.

Nurse in Hand Emergency Response is a social enterprise providing Road accidents emergency response (post-crash care) to Kenyans. Through our platform, RED.ER, an integrated web and mobile technology that improves emergency response services by reducing response time and intelligently coordinate emergency alerts to all key service providers. The system has been benchmarked on working models in developed economies (UK ER and 108 India), RED.ER routes distress alerts from the public and crash-alert devices to deploy and coordinate emergency response services within a geofenced area.

Nurse in Hand Emergency Response seriously considers advantages emerging technologies present, and this platform is designed to assimilate with emerging technologies (Blockchain, AI and IOTs) to provide effective and efficient service delivery. Through cognitive content filtering of social media Keywords and hashtags the system is able to use Artificial Intelligence to classify and intelligently give an analytic response on general emergency situations, road accident alerts and relevant emergency information processed for system analysis and research, our crash alert sensor utilize IOT to automate road emergency information relay by providing real time crush information of vehicles involved without human interface, this crash-alert devices are to be installed in motor vehicles. Our platform is a viable option to advance coordination and resource mobilization of emergency response service provision.

Nurse in Hand is working in close partnership with The Kenya Police, National Transport and Safety Authority, Kenya Vision 2030, Ministry of Health, Emergency response service providers, Public service vehicles Industry through their apex management associations (Matatu Owners Association & Matatu Welfare Association), Motorcycle transport Industry through their National management association (Boda Boda Safety Association of Kenya - BAK), and other stakeholders.

According to NTSA (Road Safety Report 2015), In Kenya, the economic cost of road crashes has been reported to be 5.6% of the GDP~300 billion Kenya shillings annually and presents a disproportionately high heath burden on Kenyans due to lack of improved emergency management services. Nurse In Hand is providing a contemporary solution to one of Kenya’s most challenging health and safety priorities.

According to World Health Organization and United Nations Road Safety Trust Fund (UNRSTF) statistics, 1.25 million people die in road accidents worldwide annually, up to 50 million more end up with injuries that leads to long term suffering, and about 2.67% of this number succumbs to death monthly due to lack of fast and immediate care. Road traffic deaths and injuries cause significant economic losses to individuals and societies, keeping millions of people in poverty and creating an estimated $1.85 trillion burden on the global economy each year. This makes addressing road safety one of the most pressing social, economic, health and development challenges of our time.
While the need to improve road safety is gaining increasing recognition, targeted efforts have not been adequately funded at the local, national, regional or global levels. As such, we are far from being on track to halve the number of road traffic deaths by 2020– the target set out in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The World Bank suggests the factors important for effective post-crash care are:
•   Efficient emergency notification
•   Fast transport of qualified medical personnel
•   Correct diagnosis at the scene
•   Stabilization and prompt transport of the patient to point of treatment
•   Quality emergency room and trauma care services

Our mission is to significantly contribute to reduction of current statistics of road accident deaths in Kenya and the world at large.

We are looking for investors to support in kind, grants, or sponsorship, for implementation of this viable idea to change the face of Emergency service provision in Kenya.
