So to my surprise, I recently found 1.01 BTC in an old mobile wallet (Breadwallet). I tried sending a small amount (around .025) out last night and the transaction got stuck in "sending" for a while and then eventually canceled itself out, leaving me with my original balance. This morning I decided to send the full amount out and the transaction again is stuck in "sending" but hasn't canceled out yet. The transaction ID it provides also can't be found on the block explorer. Any advise on what to do?

Can you install breadwallet on a desktop and try again? Or try updating your breadwallet app once you've backed up all the data from it.

Also, what version of the app was the wallet made in do you know - does the wallet have a seed?

Yes the wallet has a backup seed, and looks like I have version 3.0.1 (288). I didn't realize there was a desktop version, can I just install that and access my wallet through the backup seed?

I think there's a desktop version, unless it's just for mobile.

If not, get electrum and follow these instructions:
1. Open the electrum you just downloaded/installed
2. Select "Standard Wallet"
3. "I already have a seed"
4. Paste in the seed in the box, click "options" and tick bip39 seed.
5. Paste in the next window m/0' and hit next.
Then follow the steps (adding a name and a password) and your wallet should be created with everything.

(actually this might not work - some poeple online seem to say that's the derivation path, others say they use their own thing).
You can import the master private key if you can find it (but take both devices offline) while importing! That'll start with xprv.

The BRD app connects directly to the cryptocurrency networks it supports. There are no accounts or usernames with the BRD app. Instead, you will have a "wallet"

Did you find a solution @OP?

There isn't a desktop version... there are only iOS and Android versions of this particular wallet.

However, "BRD" generates BIP39 compatible seeds, so you can restore your seed in a BIP39 compatible wallet that allows you to specify the derivation path. This is because Breadwallet uses m/0' as the derivation path... and not the BIP44 paths like m/44'/0'/0'

Follow the steps that jackg gave earlier in Post #4... or watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-KcY6KUVnY (it's for restoring MultiBit HD in Electrum, but it uses the same derivation path as BRD Wink)
