William Entriken is the main author of the ERC721 standard, he is also an advisor to 0xcert.

0xcert is currently the only full implementation of the standard and listed as a reference implementation. You can also play around with our mini app that lets you issue non-fungible tokens - manager.0xcert.org

TCGs are one of the better examples of usage for non-fungible tokens!

It's actually for the first time possible to bridge the gap between online and offline, very excited to see companies adopt it!

Since the protocol is blockchain agnostic we will be implementing it on other blockchains that support smart contract functionality. When? As soon as we are done with Ethereum
