With amd releasing the new mantle update, will this affect mining performance. I don't know too much about mantle but it apparently can improve gaming performance, I assume it wont have an effect on mining and but cant find any info

Mantle is a graphics rendering API, it will not improve hash rates.

i am using two club 3d  r9 290x bf4s and hash rates at 18 intensity usualy hover around 780-800 ish once i downloaded the drivers my hash rates plummeted to around 500-600 max same intensity no special stuff in bat or and bin files as i removed them all prior to mining . what the new drivers and mantle system seem to have given me is some more range on overclocking and also allowed me to set some thread concurrencys now i am pulling in excess of 900 khs although i still feel this is under performance for the card.

 cg 3.7.2

stock bios
 --no-submit-stale --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://volt.bitember.com:3337 -u x.x -p x -l 1 -I 20 -g 1 -w 512 --thread-concurrency 32764 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-engine 1045 --gpu-memclock 1500

forgot to mention previously i could only run my cards as such.......

 --no-submit-stale --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://volt.bitember.com:3337 -u x.x -p x -I 20 as -g1/2 -v 2+ or any "paramaters" would kill cards and catalyst causing red screen  of death most times.

even if mantle could improve hashing, since it is a different technology, the miner programs would have to adapt first....
but, as mentioned, it is a "gaming" thing. it's like asking if DirectX is doing anything for mining and the answer is "no".
