Check out this review on how OEL solving the inefficiency in the enterprise logistics supply chain.

"OEL, (2018) further exclaim that often is the case with these manual processes, that disputes arise between shippers and transporters over “cash flow”. I believe blockchain is the solution we all need, as it is fully secure, trust-less and reliable. OEL will solve this pain point by doing just that, utilise the blockchain."

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

''The Open Enterprise Logistics (OEL) Foundation team is aiming high with this project. They are already merging all important names from the transport, supply, and logistics industry with a final goal to provide them with a platform that will make their jobs simpler and create savings at the same time. If OEL team delivers everything from their roadmap, we can expect that this project will change the face of logistics and transportation and become a new industry standard.''

Seems about right! The amount of alliance members is going to rise rapidly, I'm sure of that Smiley

OEL tell us that their model will improve liquidity and cash flow for all parties in the supply chain, something which is long overdue in my opinion. What we all should know by now from reading my work is that smart contracts will be central to this, essentially allowing many of the middlemen to be forgotten. Cheesy

Using smart contracts powered by a token to directly connect the movement of goods with payment will greatly enhance the efficiency and speed with which both goods and payments flow between supply chain participants.

Too many paper work lead to delay delivery and tardiness in operation. I think introducing block chain into supply chain will help to tackle those two issues which is part of what OEL with their partners intend to achieve.

Yup. OEL's enterprise blockchain is easily offering the best solution to these issues so far. Have you checked out the white-paper, btw?

This is one of the problems OEL Foundation is tackling:

''In many markets, a large percentage of logistics for road transport is handled by brokers known as “3PLs” (third party logistics providers, sub-contracting services) or “4PLs”(fourth parties used to manage 3PLs). When a truckload of toiletries arrives in an Indonesian town, for example, that shipment has already gone through three or even four iterations of handling by sub-contractors. The person performing the actual delivery to the consignee at the end of the supply chain could be the owner or operator of an individual van or truck. These transporters typically do not have IT systems for recording data on their shipment and rely on manual processes.

The result is that transfers are made through a fragmented base of outsourced transportation providers without real-time tracking, limiting the visibility of shipment events for the shipper.''

OEL Foundation are embraced by these four members: XVC Logistics, BSA Logistics (a member of Sinar Mas Group), Maia Global, and Bastian Consulting, extending the reach of the OEL Enterprise Architecture and further promoting blockchain innovation for the logistics space. Together, these forward thinking companies/entity in the logistics space believes  using new technologies to equip stakeholders with innovative tools to increase efficiency and reduce costs, and his key technical experience will be invaluable as we lay the foundation for a more efficient, transparent, and cost-effective logistics space.

The extra value of the OPN Tokens is added by the possibility of staking them as the node on the network. I will write more about OPN Tokenomics and upcoming TGE in the next article.

Did you guys know that OpenPort, the company that is hosting the Foundation, counts some of the largest shippers in the world among its clients, and has already built a functioning blockchain product that is actually in commercial use in supply chains today?

Also AmaZix CEO, Jonas Karlberg is an advisor for the OEL foundation.
You can read more about it in this blog post.

Alliance members are involved in the conceptualisation, development, and implementation of blockchain applications using the OEL Enterprise Architecture, with the goal of making blockchain applications real and actionable for stakeholders.

The three tiers of membership in the OEL Foundation Alliance are:

General Members have access to the information produced by the Foundation, and to production ready applications.

Premium Members have quarterly access to the development team, along with access to software development kits (SDKs) and beta releases for early stage blockchain applications.

Enterprise Council Members influence the direction of development of the Enterprise Architecture, and can co-author articles, studies, and other content released by the Foundation. They receive the same full technology access as Premium members.

XVC Logistics, BSA Logistics and Maia Global are all premium members of OEL Foundation Alliance.

What will you be able to do with OPN tokens?

The OPN Token is the utility token powering the OEL Protocol through four key utility functions:

1.    Smart contract validation
2.    Micro-rewards and incentivisation
3.    Point of Access
4.    Staking

So in the future after you've purchased OPN tokens, you will be able to use them to stake on the platform and earn rewards!

Consider the socioeconomic impact of OEL's vision on logistics:

Most trucks are empty on the way back, by encouraging drivers to share information on their available capacity we can drive Backhaul optimization = more efficient usage of trucks = lower costs to shippers, more revenues to transporters and less trucks on our roads for the same volumes transported -> less pollution, less traffic.

Also, with blockchain tech, we can now truly make CSR audit on road transport activities of large companies (we know which type of trucks moved which good from point A to point B). This level of granular data for each shipments did not exist before.
Security impact, truck drivers are most of the time sleep deprived and try to cut down on breaks to finish their delivery as fast as possible (they drive all night). With micro intensitives and smart contracts we can incentives drivers to take breaks every few hours, improving security for the driver and reducing risk for the shipper.

This is just a few examples...

Pretty insightful interview. Max is well spoken and really drives down the point of how blockchain can solve logistics issues.
