cgminer all of sudden not running: "The version of this file is not compatible"

So I've been happily mining scrypt-coins for months, and all of a sudden cgminer has decided to not be compatible with my version of windows. Please see the attached image for the full error window.

I'm totally stumped on this, I can't find anyone else who has had this problem. I'd like to avoid a clean install, but it's the only thing I can think to do.

Any opinions or help would be much appreciated.

This got moved, so just bumping the thread. I'm still leaning towards a fresh install of windows.
