Does anyone know what caused dash to crash in half? This once great coin is fading fast this year? Is there any hope?

I do not think it is fading away. I think this is due to the recent situation of fall in price of cryptocurrency. I am sure it will be better by the time the market recover and price of coin begins to rise again.

Nearly all coins and tokens have taken massive hits from their ATH. Dash is just in the same boat, once the market finds its feet and becomes stable, we will find what the true value of all these coins are.

As far as i know Japan will try to prohibit the anonymous coin to be traded on the japan's region. And it looks like that's the real reason behind all of the down trend. Monero is so straigh with DASH on its downtrend. I'm not about this and this needs to get more analyze. Is this the end of privacy coin?

Not end. Privacy coins lives and will live. But it will be removed from centarlized exchanges no doubt. Nobody from governments want to see nothing in the blockexplorer. But Dash is sad. It was near $1.4k at the Jan '18

Though I agree with you, it will be a negative effect regarding adoption of privacy coins but it is pretty good opportunity for traders because dash is one of the best coins right now, also I don't think all governments will ban privacy coins.

With the rise of Verge and other privacy coins Dash has gotten competition and as the users get mote choices less people used Dash, I this also contributes to the downtrend.

I think it may be down. I understand the direction of the funds, and a lot of money is leaving. So I think the bull market is coming. But it won't let you catch it easily.

I think people are now switching for a low value crypto with the same concept and features that's why Dash value is decreasing over time.

Wow, Dash is really cheap at the moment, with the price  of 290$. I think this is a good opportunity to buy some Dash, and wait for it's price to recover. There is no real reason for this low price.

Dash is among the coins that should disappear, for those who are here long enough it is just right. We know how it was started and who controls it. In the end 95 percent will vanish and dash deserves to be amongst them

I have no idea why it crashes or bitcoin crashes but they are all an opportunity for me, when these big coins crash they will risse again for certain, if you buy it is an opportunity not a crash.

I think it's an interesting idea too. And I think that it is better to invest money in cryptocurrency right now. After all, now is the most profitable period for investment.

Dash has been considered a scam for a long time by many experts.  The premine the devs has was ridiculous.

I wasn't aware Dash was premined, that makes it indeed a scamcoin in my book, at least it's not a real cryptocurrency it that is true but instead in the same category as Ripple.
