Bitcoin is used in almost everywhere, not only dark web, but its true that dark web adopted Bitcoin very fast.

Yes it is. Bitcoin was widely used in the deep web in its early years and until now ofcourse. Its anonimity plays a big factor why it is used in the deep web.

As we all know, deep web pages contain a lot of information, information that not everyone is allowed to know. So, yes, bitcoin is used in deep web to access these wihtout hazards for your profile. One of the main reasons for reducing usage is high volatility and perhaps something more important and less anonymous than before. Anonymous and lower charges, this is something that users request these days.

In the deep web is not just bitcoin used as a tool to pay, but other payment options are also many, such as paypal, bank. it's just that they do not use a third party in the transaction, so it's often a fraud action.

Probably it is, since its one of the biggest crypto name, if not the biggest. However, those who seek anonymity through bitcoin can be track down because we all know that its not 100% anonymous. So if you are going into deep web to buy illicit stuff, you better think again. And you also have to understand that 2 of the biggest darkweb's illegal market, Hansa and Alphabay has been shutdown by the Feds since last year.

Quote
“Approximately 1,605.0503851 bitcoins were seized from Alexandre Cazes and moved to a secure government-controlled bitcoin address,” explains the forfeiture complaint. “ Approximately 293.79476862 bitcoin was moved from server 3203 (Alphabay) to a secure government-controlled bitcoin address.”

I think people are generalizing it with dark web and bitcoin is currency now it is up to the people many people are using it for buying and selling of different goods across the world and many people utilize services of the experts in the normal wen through payment of bitcoin so we can not say that it will use for illegal things only,

I have never accessed dark web and thsu cannot comment about the use of bitcoins there.

But from what I have heard of the kind of deals happens happen there, bitcoin is best suited for those deals. You just have to give a bitcoin wallet to the buyer and he sends you the money without getting any other information about you. In other payment system, you have to give information like email or bank details.

One of the sad fact is that, people that doesn't know bitcoin are generalizing it as payment for illegal transactions only. They only see the negative potential of bitcoin while in fact everything has a negative side in this world. So, it should be fair enough when looking into the use of bitcoin. We cannot avoid bad people who are making good innovation and using it in illegal activities.

is bitcoin largely used on the deep web because of the anonymity it offers and is it the only payment method available if your shopping on deep web or there are some other payment method aside from bitcoin and how big bitcoin is on deep web?
Have you visited any dark web sites in the past couple of years and have you seen any site accepting bitcoin as a mode of payment, i am surprised that you have posted this thread about the use of bitcoin in darkweb when it is not used by any of the sites because it is not anonymous, i am not sure why people cannot understand simple things, if you have a public ledger where anyone can view the transaction how can that be used to conduct transaction in the dark web. In my opinion bitcoin probably is the most popular mode of payment largely because of its anonimity. These criminals really looks for something this anonymous.

This has been the negative side of the anonimity of bitcoin, its use for illicit activities, we can't really blame bcoin for this since it really depends on the user on how they use bitcoin.

I haven't been on deepweb yet but i see there are huge proportion of circulating supply of bitcoin are being used there since deepweb is community for anonymous people so basically they are using currency that offers anonymity which is bitcoin and other cryptocurrency. This is why the government are still in process of knowing bitcoin.

Bitcoin isn't anonymous, the ledger is transparent. Privacy coins like zencash, cloakcoin, etc are the ones to go if you're looking for a real privacy.
And more and more people in the dark web are using privacy coins instead of bitcoin.
Unless you're using a bitcoin mixer, forget about your privacy.

Well, but it will not put a bad impact on Bitcoin. Deep web or Dark Web is not accessible for everyone. Some peoples are using of their negative purposes. But we hope to Bitcoin will became as service provider currency like Paypal or other currencies.

It can still be used on the web because of Bitcoin but using it will not give you full anonymity because it can be tracked, I think Bitcoin is now more widely used on good deals. At this point there are a lot of cryptocurrency made to give full anonymity to all its users, and even I don't go to the deep web, I am sure that they now use this type of cryptocurrency as an alternative to Bitcoin so that it is not tracked by the authorities. Maybe Bitcoin is still used on the web but if you are a smart drug seller why you risk using it if there are many alternatives that will make your transaction safer.

Bitcoin was meant to be anonymous but it is now entering into traceable assets. Most of the exchanges who are offering Bitcoin want to have KYC (Know Your Customer) records where purchaser details are stored. If you are not compliant then legal authorities can trace you and these exchanges cannot keep your KYC information safe after court order to disclose. This is also part of their legal license to operate cryptocurrency business. These companies also have record of your transactions. There are some news on user account banned by Coinbase. That was because those customers were involved in some unlawful activities according to them. They have traced it to purchase of some drugs. So in real sense Bitcoin is coming out of the anonymous status. But in some sense still Bitcoin is a leader in cryptocurrency world and anonymity is maintained during transactions if you are doing everything from your personal wallet and not using any companies platform to make transactions.

KHeck no! As a matter of fact the dark web has a number of currencies started to replace bitcoin which ill mention in just a bit. Bitcoin is widely used all over the world for peoples everyday purchases, if you shop online you can get pretty much anything you need as far as household items at places like walmart or a selsction of items not just for the home but othe specialtys as well at amazon and for a list of great places that accept crypto you can get phone apps from play store and app store or even just a basic google search, now on the other hand if you do like the works of the dark and deep web most every site does accept bitcoin as you know but most of them are now adopting payment options for dark web based coin such as deeponion coin and TORcoin.
