getting scammed is a normal experience in our world of crypto, because it leads to a wise and very careful in the future plan. and not getting scam again.. so, today always do the basic, put or invest what you can afford to lose at anytime.
I think its not normal dude, normal describes things that are common to everyone but a scam doesn't happen to everyone and everyone avoids it. but you're right that it makes it a lesson, so it doesn't happen again. if you want to avoid it, avoid investment doubling, unclear investment, shit project. research first before investing..

That could happen if you access a phishing website, The sites  just has the same look as the real one. When ever you put your coins in there or you put your wallet's private key in there, then it's done, the theft will be able to take all the coins that you kept in you wallet.

One very important principle that I live by is that, if it seems to good to be true, it is too good to be true. Ensure you do your due diligence and research on the company properly. Who are the people behind the company, what are their credentials. Nowadays it is very easy to look up a person online. If there are minimal to no information of the company or the people behind it, you’re better off taking your money elsewhere.

First things you must do is check the URL that you will be visiting. That way you are already avoiding phising scams.
Next is the website that you will do the trade. I prefer going to the populated ones like Binance.
If you are going for Ethereum to Erc20 tokens then Idex will be a good idea. It is tested and proven already to be a decentralized platform.

Some prefer the old one like poloniex. You could also do trades there but I bet some of their coins do not have much movement.

It also the same thing happens in the myetherwallet site. In which, you should double check the URL address because a lot of phishing site is making a duplicate out of it to get your data, the letters in the 'wallet' is then replaced by the captal 'i' to look the same as the original site. Be warned, see the address certificate.

There are two options, or you study the market and all its possibilities or you will learn from your mistakes but it can be painful .

I believe that you need to communicate only with trusted contacts and keep at least some anonymity on the network. Otherwise, you will sooner or later be hacked.

There is no easy way to be able to avoid that scam project, even the experience one has ever meet that one.
All you need to do is by selecting a project thoroughly and carefully.

You just need to be more or less wary of everything. Then you will definitely not fall for scammers. A small fraction of reason and prudence and here you are with your money.

Actually, It's a little bit tricky to avoid getting scammed in crypto space.
Today, some scammers are more clever than I thought. The main thing is, if the project is not making any sense, I rather avoid it.

If you really don't have enough knowledge on cryptocurrency you is surely can get scammed. My advise for you is to have a research first before joining or doing an action in cryptocurrency. Have some readings and look at the reviews and feedback of the other users before joining anything.

I had an experience where I get scam by scammer when making a trade on telegram and I lose thousand of dollar. I lose on gamble site that turn scam site and I lose my money to scammer when I want to buy something in the internet using bitcoin. Do not ever trust peoples if they ask money first even the trade are so good to be true. Now I will always ask for an escrow before trade with someone outside the forum. Do not trust people's with your money. this my advise.

Scam projects are very difficult to distinguish, I personally try to distinguish in the form of web design and white paper. I think if in a structured design, the project maker does have a clear intention to develop the project and the main thing is to understand the white paper because the white paper is the main key in knowing the project

It is impossible to avoid fraud in such a market. If you actively invest in projects or participate in bounty campaigns then you will probably sooner or later run into a fraudulent project that will deceive you. You have to be mentally prepared for that.

You can lessen to encounter a getting scam but you cannot avoid it especially here in cryptocurrency world because its made of technology which means some people can create new coin and do anything to attract people to invest to it. So the best thingntondonis extra careful and analyze the it. And be prepared for what ever outcomes and keep going because surely you will find the best one.

If you want to avoid getting scammed, stay away from any investments that promise you huge return in a small span of time. Avoid clicking links, because there's a chance that your computer will get malwares which can breach your security. Make sure that your accounts are secured. Also, make sure to learn first before investing your money.

Yes you can lose your fund if you are not careful, just use your common sense in your approach to cryptocurrency trading and investing. Do not invest or trade funds you can not afford to lose and always expose yourself to the degree to which you can use your skills and experience to protect yourself.
