Without marketing, interest might die. If interest dies, the price of a coin tanks. If price of a coin tanks, the coin dies and along with that, the project gets forgotten.

That is definitely true. But it is somehow hard to predict how much of the raised funds should be put into advertisements and how much impact will they have. But I see projects that advertise all over the place gather funds more quickly and surely. Nothing is certain in crypto though.
