Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are not getting hacked until right now there are no issues about the bitcoin's network has been hacked, just there are hacking issues in bitcoin's exchangers and it doesn't mean bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies getting hacked, it is something different, all of users cryptocurrencies has responsibilities to keep their coins to be safe with stored their private key.

Is it really that hard to prevent hackers from hacking exchanges, wallets and God knows what other methods they use...
I mean how on earth is crypto supposed to flourish if it's so venerable to hackers?
Every month a huge hack happens and totally destroys the crypto image yet again.
At this rate, bitcoin will go to $1 as it gets hacked every day.
Is it possible to take simple precautions to protect against hackers?
For a so called "unhackable" wallet, private key ect, it seems to be a cake walk for any hacker.
Sorry for the rant, it's just irritating to see crypto slowly dying because of hacks.

I agree with your opinion, I think there must be some measure to combat hackers as today. Hope everyone will have a better solution. Let's pray together
There is a lot that can be done to avoid losing your bitcoin because you were hacked but people want that everything is solved without they having to do anything and that is not the way something like bitcoin that is decentralized works, if you are tired of losing your money to hackers then you need to take steps to reduce your own vulnerability to hackers, if you are not willing to do that then no one is going to do it for you.

bad guys always take advantage of opportunities. let alone bitcoin prices tend to increase, so many iris janat want to have it with instant. that's the risk we have to face. then, we must be careful in storing assets, use a safe wallet, complete with 2fa and complicated passwords.

Hacking mostly happens in exchanges and so it's always advisable to store our bitcoins in our desktop wallets or any hardware wallets.Otherwise our bitcoins would get compromised.Mt.Gox was the first exchange which got hacked.

Once again, another exchange hacked for 30 million..
IT HASN'T EVEN BEEN A WEEK SINCE I MADE THIS THREAD..
I'm afraid to say, but crypto currency is officially dead. It has NO security and hackers are going to destroy it.. RIP crypto
Bitcoin = $1 in 2020...
Crypto is getting hacked easier then it is to back Facebook, or email address. It will never get adopted unless a serious change happens

There are many reasons. But I think the main one is still the big hole in systems. So, the question will be raised for the developers or the tech guys who are in charge of systems and security for these platform. You can search on google and see that, many cases were come from the weak security and infrastructure. You can check some news here:
https://btcmanager.com/hackers-target-infrastructure-and-weak-security-to-steal-cryptocurrencies/
https://btcmanager.com/cryptojacking-strikes-again-hackers-target-government-websites-to-mine-monero/

Do you remember about the Ethereum case? That's a big hack which cost 20 million Ethereum because of the weak security on port 8584 (this one is so technical I don't want to mention about).
https://btcmanager.com/hacker-group-steals-over-20-million-of-ethereum-after-exploiting-port-8584/

So the point is, if coins don't want to be hacked, the security has to be stronger. Hackers are smart and they can do everything to be rich.

Hackers can access accounts on all websites if the account has a simple password or have low security. So that recent trading floor of Korea was hacked and steal a lot of tokens by hackers

The wallets that is storing the coins can be also hacked. Even if you have chosen a strong password you are still not safe. This has happened several times.
Well it's not always have to be like that because at the first place it's our responsibility to make it safe. At all cause it must be secured and that depends on how we use it properly. We must know that our account is always rid of hackers and we must not give them the power to do what they are doing.

Sad to say but hackers are all over this community so our safety depends upon our own usage. We must be sure that we are aware of what we are dealing to this kind of trouble. Safety will always be on our hand so make sure that you will use your account privately. We must not give hackers the power to do their job.

They always find ways so better to deal with that, knowing more extra security with your account is really necessary, just what OP was said another  news about exchange that has been hacked and until now i'm still wondering how it possible, maybe inside job or someone who have direct access to the site that  will performed the hacks, though there's no exact proof but it is not next to impossible as well.

Hacking is a common problem not only with crypto exchanges but all online platforms. But your title is misleading as such incidences happen rarely and not always.

They hack crypto because its untraceable. Beside that, stealing bitcoin and cryptocurrency more easy to keep than stealing money or gold and the price of bitcoin always increasing.

It is really hard to protect crypto from the hackers! Hackers are really very smart to do such things. We tried every hard method to prevent them but we failed. Every year, the crypto market faces several hacks! Day by day it's increasing. We tried 2Fa, SMS Verification, NID verification and we failed. I think another highly security we need now, and everyone should withdraw their crypto coin from exchanges before late.

If its created by a human it can also be hacked by another human or the same human. Who knows if this hackers are paid hackers to hack their own site just to show to the world that their site was hacked and it will allow them enough time to exit or play with the Bitcoins in some other business venture. Regardless of how any times they update their security, someone will try to hack their way in to the system specially that the reward is good.

Hacking doesn't occur in crypto world only.. Hackers also hacked the banking systems before.. But that didn't kill banks. They became more strong in security.. So i think these hackings are making crypto currency more strong day by day as the exchanges are updating their security better than ever. They are becoming unbreakable. Very soon these hacks will reduce i hope as the security is updating..  That's what i hope. Because all of us heard a saying.. "Constant punch makes your bones stronger  Wink ..

Hackers are real and has up their games in the act of hacking. They are so formidable that they can hack into any exchange and private individuals that is not heavily secured. They have gone as far as hacking private emails where they can access the private keys of wallets which will easily enable them to gain access to wallets and cart away much they can see. I think exchanges should work in synergy with each other to recover stolen coins back to the original owners. The hackers do not swallow the coins they will normally take it to an exchange for fiat exchange.
