PROJECT AIUR BY IRIS.AI ▄▄▄Democratizing science through blockchain-enabled disintermediation.Overview of Project Aiur▄▄▄At Project Aiur we are introducing the AIUR token and community. AIUR is a utility token realigning incentives and forging an ecosystem of accessible, validated, reproducible science. You earn tokens from your contributions to science; from building tools all the way to actually publishing your research openly and reviewing other people’s research. Everyone who is a member of Aiur will own the project, can use the tools we build together, and can vote in important decisions.
The heart of the Aiur economy is a community-owned AI-powered Knowledge Validation Engine (KVE). The KVE will take a piece of research, analyze its arguments and validate each argument against other papers. This allows us to build a massive collection of knowledge that is validated and reproducible. The KVE is a highly valuable tool to be used by research institutes and corporate R&D. In addition, the KVE will be the foundation for a variety of other third party applications - open to anyone to build.
AIUR will be used to give access to the KVE and possible other 3rd party applications developed on top of the community’s software. When the pool of AIUR tokens fills up, they are burned - so the more usage of the KVE, the more scarcity of tokens is introduced.
And when the economy is strong enough, the value proposition of publishing Open Access will be a no-brainer and we will see a grassroots revolution of open publishing of scientific knowledge.
The challenges faced by science▄▄▄There are a lot of problems hampering global scientific progress today: at the forefront is massively costly access to research and a misaligned incentive system in publishing caused by powerful middlemen profiting from research that’s already paid for with our tax money. The only way to change this is with a grassroots movement – of researchers and scientists, librarians, scientific societies, R&D departments, universities, students, and innovators – coming together.
Current problems faced by the scientific community and the users of scientific content today include:
(1) information overload
(2) access barriers
(3) reproducibility issues
(4) built-in biases
(5) incentive misalignment.
Project Aiur has a simple goal: we want everyone who contributes to the world of science to be rewarded, and we want the results to be available to anyone with important problems to solve. Project Aiur community and ecosystem will work to address the 5 problems outlined above by building commonly-owned tools and removing the powerful intermediaries using blockchain.

The AIUR token will be introduced as the main currency in the project. Besides granting membership, AIUR will be used to give access to the KVE and any other tools developed on top of the community’s software. Anyone who contributes to the community with things like code, training data and research earn AIUR tokens. We have modeled it to be the sole instrument available for the community to tap into Aiur directly and, at the same time, a voucher, i.e. a significantly discounted digital right to purchase products built on top of Aiur, including Iris.ai-developed services. Thus, far from an instrument suited to short term financial speculation, AIUR tokens are designed for natural holders, who believe in the value-added that Aiur will bring to them directly or to other third party use-cases.
