Just search in Google before playing with your money at any gambling site. All the legit site have a lot of review for their trustiness. And you can also learn about the scam site just by search in Google.

The issue with those rating sites is that they might be paid, just like ICO sites do paid reviews. You should look for user reviews from multiple sources to be sure. Also in this forum there is plenty of information regarding scams. They might be harder to find but it's better to spend some time reading instead of losing your money.

A little google search can save you from scam betting sites. If you come across a cryptocurrency betting website and you want to know about the reputation of that website, try finding its thread in bitcointalk forum. See if the thread is active and if the old members are rating it well. That is when you know the difference.

Supporting what others said about searching and googling those betting sites that you are not comfortable gambling with.

It's easy as 1,2,3 and you have to take few minutes of typing the "casino name"+ scam/review on the search engine and you'll get thousands of results but the closest ones will be on the top of that search.

do you believe the rating/review sites or they are mainly paid like the ICO review sites ?
I'm still believing those review sites as long as I also know the website they are reviewing but if I'm not familiar with it, still do your own review for that website.

The easiest way to spot a scam is to browse through gambling related forums and message boards, and ask the forum members what they think of a particular online casino. They will tell you. I'm talking about large online gambling forums like gpwa.org

With the current use of technology it's very easy to create a fake site, a fake generator and fake testimonials. You can even buy google reviews so the only way I'll trust a site if it's here, and many members excluding newbies have posted proof they made money. Honestly I prefer to stick with the tried and tested sites. If any site is giving unbelievable bonuses it's a scam, check domain registration that should help.

I agree with the domain check here. There are tools as well provided to us to check the domain's registration or if they opt to be hidden, then there's something wrong with it. Just be careful with review sites because some of them are paid so obviously they will vouch for it. So due your due diligence and be careful and used your common sense. You might try to deposit small funds and see if you can withdraw it.

I would make sure to have a few google chrome extensions perhaps to improve security and avoid the worst types of clone sites that try to look legitimate but are just false copies.

Google iobit for a general toolkit and that comes with an extension for surfing.
'https everywhere' is another extension to use, works in firefox and opera too

basic tip would be not to goto the site directly but enter it as a text string into a search engine.   This will correct or sometimes show a warning if its well known as being misleading.  Of course also manually ask about a site.
If you do gamble somewhere near, start off slow and only really increase after a week or so if you are happy and have cleared withdraw etc

Yes, this is what I do and not only for playing sites but also for the software I want to download or suspicious emails too. I try to check if there have not been anybody scammed by a particular site or service.

Well I'm not sure there is a lot of things you can do. You could try to see if the gambling site has a license, but to be honest I never do that, because I'm not even sure I could trust the information provided, and I don't really know how to check if the files they show are true or not.

I guess your best way is to search for a support page that has a lot of active users, as well as a company representative, replying to users requests. You can check what users are saying there, and what type of issues the site might be having.

Searching for review sites is also a good option. And yes, some sites could be paying those page owners, but they are probably not doing that on every site, so check a lot of reviews, and start crossing information between them.

None of those things can guarantee you will avoid a scam site, but it will help. If it's a new site, then you should probably test it with caution, with low amounts of money, and see if they manage to build trust in the community.

By the way, if you will go into sportsbooks sites, you can check this thread for reviews and ranks. Remember you should cross the information from this thread, with information from other threads, and other review websites, for a more accurate view on how the gambling site is.

I think it's easier to spot the good ones than it is to spot scam gambling websites.
Good websites will have very few scam reports on websites where you can somewhat trust the review, such as this forum.

I'd stay away from looking for 'reviews' on websites that have affiliate links. Best to use websites that allow individual users to post their own reviews.
Also look at how the reviews or scam reports are written. I can imagine there are some false reports out there, made by the competition or users who've broken the rules or something.

I'd go with the big-name casino's in the crypto world. I just wouldn't trust any new website at this point in time, just because there are enough trusted established gambling websites out there.

What he said basically, plus, what else a new casino can offer anyway. A new game? Nope. They only come up with some new gimmicks but at the end of the day it's all the same. Some sites are doing giveaways and freebies or some bonus if you deposit x amount so they will be more appealing than trusted gambling sites but honestly it's what makes them so fishy as well. Why would a gambling site give out x amount of money just for depositing? They are just giving you a reason to deposit to their website.

I mean, review sites get paid by new websites if they think that the review site will give them a good traffic. On the other hand, it's usually the review sites that are trying to find new websites that they can review so they can have a deposit link which is mainly how they make money aside from getting paid directly by the website so their site will get reviewed. But of course that does not guarantee them good feedback and a review site which gives good feedback in exchange of money is fishy too so you might wanna find a review for the review site as well.

There are many ways to find out. For people who have a certain intelligence, they can detect it from the beginning and for people like me, who aren't familiar with things that are too complicated, see reviews of people who have come and use the site, will be enough . This forum provides many things including information about the level of trust of an online gambling site.

Expand reading the history of a site that will give you a bit of a conclusion on the belief in the gambling site, looking for information on the internet is strongly recommended because there are so many people who provide input or information scam or not, I strongly recommend choosing a site that is already proven good and has been widely used by most people not to look for sites that do not know for sure its existence, usually in view scam site quality is not too fancy tend not intention in the making.

You can also do a little bit of research on Scam Accusations or use the forum by using it's search box.
Which are the red flags with those kind of sites and do you believe the rating/review sites or they are mainly paid like the ICO review sites ?
Some ratings are legit but few maybe not. Spotting a scam betting site is easier for newly launched ones.

There are already lots of discussion about how to spot scam gambling sites, you can look through it or you can get suggestions in here. As you mentioned ratings/reviews are also part in which to see if the site is legit or not but sometimes this reviews are not legit and just forged by them so make sure that you read thoroughly the reviews. Also, another place you can ask is here in the forum many people do gamble and probably they can help you see if the website that you are interested in is legit or not. There are many ways to check you just need to do some research.

How do you guys spot scam betting sites ? Which are the red flags with those kind of sites and do you believe the rating/review sites or they are mainly paid like the ICO review sites ?

Get familiar with the system they use to generate seeds and find out if their randomness really is random as they claim. Start discussions and see what other people have to say and if they can prove any scam activities like not allowing withdrawals or come up with crappy rules just to delay big withdrawals, etc.

since I only bet with bitcoin sites I don't even bother with google , google had and will always have mixed reviews which can mislead the readers but checking the forums here should give more than enough info about different sites
the main problem is when a new site appears , but it's easy when the site has been around for over 2 years
