Beginner Goals?

I am new to bitcointalk and I am looking to start helping additional development on-top of the bitcoin/litecoin protocols.  This is my goal in the next 3-6 months. What is your goals as a new beginner?  And how did you hear about BitcoinTalk originally?

Welcome, my goal is to own more bitcoin.  

Mine too  . But also to spread the word and benefits of Bitcoin. I would love to be able to spend coins on whatever I want as a long term goal, but obviously that's out of my hands.
