Link to be posted soon. === I am holding a small competition for the World Cup 2018 in Russia. It will start with tomorrow's opener on 14 June 17:00 CET and end after the final match to be held on 17 July 17:00 CET. I will be posting my own bets, but I won't compete for the prizes. How to participate 1. Each Match Day, you can post ONE betslip here, showing a bet made on any World Cup match. It can be a single bet or parlay/accumulator, on any line/props/outcome. 2. Include a brief bet description (event, wager and odds). 3. Include a brief (or wordy, I won't mind) sentence or two describing the bet or why you made it. 4. After the bet is settled and if you win, return here and quote your original post with the winning betslip. 5. The decimal odds of your winning bet is added as your score for the day and updated on a public spreadsheet under each Match Day. If you lost your bet, a score of 1 will be added. For example, if you win a bet with a decimal odds of 1.72, then 1.72 is your score for the day. 6. At the end of the competition, all scores are multiplied for a final score. 7. The top three scores win a prize in BTC, paid within a week after the final game on 17 July. PRIZES
1st place: 0.015 BTC
2nd place: 0.01 BTC
3rd place: 0.005 BTC
Bonus Prize: 0.005 to be awarded to the participant with the highest single daily score. Participation rules: 1. Min account rank of Member (just to minimise fraud).
2. Bets made in Bitcoin only (no fiat bookies, no altcoin bets), with a minimum bet of 0.0005 BTC (or 0.5 mBTC as some bookies say).
3. Only ONE bet per player for ONE MatchDay. More than one bet disqualifies participation for the day. You may not replace a posted bet.
4. No promotional content allowed.
5. I reserve the right to disqualify participants if I suspect cheating. TIPS- This competition is based on odds rather than bet sizes. This looks to reward unlikelier outcomes. - I will be posting bets made on BitcoinRush.io, as their odds tend to be higher than other bookies. They are not sponsoring this contest. - There are 25 Match Days in total. If your bookie has even 1% better odds than others, this already gives you a 28.2% advantage if you win every bet. So shop around for the best odds! - I will make a post with my MatchDay 1 betslip, just to show how it's done. Hope everyone enjoys the World Cup! P.S. My bet for MatchDay 1 ( betslip linked). Saudi Arabia - Yellow Cards (-0.5 handicap) @1.75 Russia will be eager to win, Saudi will be hoping for the upset but will probably draw at best and probably get a couple of bookings along the way. Officials will likely be kind to the hosts on the opening game, and the Russians shouldn't need to be over zealous. |

Turns out this isn't a popular idea but I'll see how the response goes for a few more days. I'll also lower the minimum bet to 0.0005 (50,000 satoshi or 0.5 mBTC). Maybe the minimum was too high before? I won the Iran game so am very happy with my first result and it was quite a good payout, never mind that it had to be an injury-time own goal, although still in a loss from yesterday's game! Your bet didn't win, so the spreadsheet was updated with a score of "1". Hope to get more participants, I wondered if the min bet was too low but surely people bet $3 on World Cup games, no? |

In any case, I put a number of bets down today, encouraged by yesterday's risk-taking. He's using the same site I do, and I've been betting there for over a year, and it's a site that's 4 years old - if you take a look at the Bitcoin gambling industry, that's a really long time to be around given the rate of survival (it's low). Reputation-wise, you'll also find a clean bill of health looking up their name online, and since their relaunch last year, their odds have only become more attractive. That said, I would never guarantee "safety" of any crypto site, since in the end, if they decide to close shop and run, there's nothing we can do. They accept Bitcoin and ADK on sportsbook bets... soon to be accepting about 10 other alts once the exchange integration completes (you read that right, casino/sportsbook/exchange/wallet). |

I won the Serbia bet, but lost the heavier parlay with that Mexico shocker so my score won't count to the totals (but a reminder, to potential participants, my scores don't count towards the prizes). The Argentina miss was less difficult to digest, even if it was only against Icelandic part timers. Mexico aren't push overs but Germany was fully expected to win this one. Whoever backed them will have enjoyed a nice payout! |

Whoever backed them will have enjoyed a nice payout! hehe yeah bro , damn I'm honestly thinking of backing all the under dogs with handicap in the next games since I failed with Spain , Argentina , Germany and Brazil predicted Australia +1.5 against France which was true , so I'm really thinking about starting backing up the underdogs I have Tunisia +1.5 for tomorrow , but can't see Belgium winning by less than 2 goals since Panama isn't that impressive at all so will took Belgium-1.5 also I followed South Korea journey in the qualification since they were in the same group with Syria , and to be honest you can't expect much from them since they played really poor and if Syria won their last game against Iran South Korea wouldn't qualify so taking Sweden win to NIL may be a good idea , but Sweden moneyline in general is good as well I'm sure tomorrow we should be in profit  |

Since there is so much upsets in this WC I am usually putting some tennis on my tickets. Is it possible to put my mixed ticket for this competition and have only WC match counted (reduced odds)? Anyway for today's matches i am thinking all favorites will win and do it easily. And today, I'm backing the underdogs again, taking a bet each on Senegal and Egypt, both of whom have my Liverpool forwards Mane and Salah respectively. I forgot but it doesn't matter since I had Colombia to win on it. I have entered so many different competitions and bets on this world cup it is getting a bit difficult to track them all As far as I understood you only accept BTC bets and no fiat. What about ETH? I have some small funds on wbet7 in ETH so I could use them for this purpose maybe. Mine main bets are in fiat for WC because I have better odds in my local bookie. |

Hey Trofo, to answer your question: - only Bitcoin bets are allowed here. I support Bitcoin in whatever way I can, and since the prizes are also in Bitcoin and I use Bitcoin myself, I thought to reserve this contest only for Bitcoin users. I actually also use fiat bookies but only for "specials" that crypto bookies sometimes don't have. Odds are almost always better in Bitcoin sportsbooks, too, so I see no reason to go fiat if I can help it. Now on to my bet for the day... I thought the odds were pretty good but I have been spot on with every single day so far by counting on an underrated team to win or draw. I predicted 3-0 in Fifa predictor for Portugal but it turned out to be super boring as you said. Morocco can't dig themselves out of their hole without any venom, though they really weren't so bad, just not good enough. Luis Suarez finally got his team ahead today, I predicted 4-0 on that one (I know, I know) but I almost got it right with Belgium so I thought why not some South American glory today? Looks like you both are out and I look OK so far... still no participants. Shame, as it's still anyone's game. |

Booked my parlay in yesterday, I would never have guessed 1-0 wins for all 3 games, but I suppose it was about time all the favourites won their game. I'm going to risk the exact same parlay today, though the risk to me is with Argentina (unless Messi is back on form) and Denmark (Australia aren't pushovers). Sy: that's an amazing win for tennis, well done! After yesterday's game, my early good bets on Iran and other parlays were all burned up so I'm in a slight negative balance for my World Cup bankroll. Regarding the prizes. I also agree that there is no need to pay us anything. I feel like the perfect prize for us would be a pint of beer but that is hard to accomplish since we are all living in different parts of the world. If you ever come to Croatia let me know We are perfect place for summer vacation  Too bad nobody else joined. Your idea for competition was great. I hope there will be something similar in the future and that we will manage to attract a bigger crowd. There is really no point when there is only 3 of us. Thank you for organizing this. |

Thank you, Trofo, and SyGambler. I really appreciate your sentiments. This was my first competition and I guess I hugely overestimated the interest from this forum. I see plenty of gamblers talk and discuss, so not sure what would have attracted them to join... disappointed that there was so little interest in a competition that doesn't cost anyone anything, yet people participate in free giveaways for much smaller prizes. I know the prizes maybe wasn't so great especially with BTC price right now but I really thought we'd have a lot of gamblers sharing their bets for a huge global tournament.
I'll just close out the contest now and lock the thread... but please both send me a Bitcoin address in PM, I'd like to tip you both BTC 0.005 for your contributions.

Maybe you can create it soon and give people a month to learn about it and give their opinions how to make it more interesting for them. From what I read in your posts in this thread you are big on BTC promotion so make that one of the firm rules and leave some room for people to advise other parts of your contents which you are more open to change/update. I really appreciate your contribution to the gambling section mate , left you a trust feedback yesterday for your nice work regarding the next competition I don't know to be honest , I'm not that much of a follower when it comes to EPL since it can take a long time but the world cup is supposed to be the month that all people watch soccer in and that's why I was surprised for not having more participants so I may not even join the pool for the English premier league , will let you know if I changed my mind and no need for the tip mate , we were just having fun together |
