Does anyone want to join in a gambling pool for the upcoming FIFA World Cup? I previously ran one for last year's Premier League
here which was a great success, but I am looking to organise one for the upcoming FIFA tournament and next year's Premier League now.

World Cup:

We will probably be using the two predictors on the Official FIFA Website for the World Cup. One is roughly the same as the Premier League where you pick the correct scores for every game and the other is a bracket challenge where you guess how teams will place in the group stage and then how they progress through the tournament and various points are awarded for predicting each. At the end of the tournament we will add both scores together and the winner will obviously be the person who gets the most total.

SCORING SYSTEM

Group Stage Scoring

    Correctly predict a Group winner: 10 points
    Correctly predict a Group Runner-Up: 10 points
    Correctly predict the top two teams (in any order): 3 points
    Correctly predict the entire group in the correct order: 15 points

Knockout Stage Scoring

    For each correct team in the Quarter-Finals: 3 points
    For each correct team in the Semi-Finals: 4 points
    For each correct team in the Final: 5 points
    For the correct World Cup 2018 Winner: 10 points
    For the correct World Cup 2018 Runner-up: 8 points
    Correctly predict a fixture (both correct teams and the correct position in the bracket): 10 points

Points and Scoring
For each match, points are awarded for:

    Predicting the correct scoreline;
    Predicting the correct result;
    Predicting the correct margin of victory; and
    Predicting the correct number of goals scored.

For each points category listed above (excluding number of goals scored) you will earn a score between 1 to 100 points (the exact amount awarded will depend on the number of other participants who also made the correct prediction). The lower the number of participants who make a correct prediction, the more points will be awarded.

A guide to the number of points which can be earned for each prediction is displayed on the FIFA World Cup™ Match Predictor page under each prediction bracket. Points will be updated 'live' while the match is in progress.

Bonus Points
You will only be able to answer bonus questions once the line-ups have been announced, from around 60 minutes before the match in question begins until kick-off.

For each correctly answered bonus question, you will earn an additional 30 points.

Joker
For every 2018 FIFA World Cup™ matchday, you can assign one prediction to be your joker. A correct joker prediction will result in any points awarded for that match being doubled!

The fee will again probably be around £25 in bitcoin to join the pool and it will probably be a winner takes all format. I will probably do a couple runner up prizes as well but this depends on how many people join in. The Premier League pool attracted 23 players paying out prizes for the top five places so hopefully we can do something similar with this but we have less than a month to organise it.

Unsure on the World Cup one (don’t like intl. footy) & I’ll join the £100 Premier League one if we can get near 10 of us. I’m not keen to play if it’s only 4 or 5 of us but will defo join if we get around 10 because there would be a nice jackpot then.

Ok. I'm not a huge fan of Internationals either but the World Cup is always enjoyable, and when there's money on it it's even better. It's a bit of fun at least for month. I'm sure it'll be worth the £25 joining fee, but no worries if you're not interested in it.

Of course it is enjoyable. You will see football players play only for their country not for money. At least that is what I have been observing up for now. In each World Cup, players give their best to cheer up the public. Added to that, it will be hard to decide who will be the winner because even weak teams tend to win sometimes. I really look forward to see the players into action. At least this summer is not going to be boring for me.

I'm in for the EPL for 25 GBP and FIFA.  

Guys...  C'mon get in the FIFA betting pool already, you think it won't be fun right now but once you see the players you know and love playing at the World Cup, I'm pretty sure you guys will have so much fun.

Take Belgium for example...  They have Lukaku, Hazard, Kevin de Bruyne, Fellaini, Dembele, Alderwtjirfjrfdld (from Tottenham), Vertongen, Kompany, Courtious etc in one team!!!

Looks like I'm not the only one keen to join all three pools! Can't have too much football I say.

Confirmation from me to join World Cup pool, and both EPL 2018/19 pools (total GBP 150).

To anyone wondering if this pool is worth joining: I play a pool almost every year and have never had as much fun as in the previous edition hosted on bct by OP.

@LFC, it's probably not as fun as club football, depending on where you're from, but if you're Icelandic or Senegalese, for example, there's a lot riding on WC, and I'm always cheering the underdogs.

Belgium have the best team on paper but can they gel together as a team? They were my favourites to win the Euros in 2016 but that didn't happen and they lost to Wales in the semis, but they're always worth putting a bit of money on since the odds are usually pretty good.

Hey everyone, I want to join Premier league for next round at absolutely all costs, 25 Pound is great starting point, but if the users want to increase to 100 then why not if I have the money.
