Please correct me if I am wrong. I think I saw there was some company internal drama going on somewhere. Any thoughts?
Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

There's a separate board for Mycelium.

I use it for small amounts "on the road".

It should work but there are way better options.

I use and recommend Samourai because they have anything I need in a wallet (including Segwit). Meanwhile, Mycelium is shady, stole their users with their shit crowdfund, decided to support BCH instead of Segwit (after almost 1 year) and supported a shady Russian cloud mining ICO.

I liked Samourai Wallet after downloading it but it's still in beta phase.Unfortunately it's too early to judge if it's a good wallet or not since people didn't experience it yet.I'll keep it in my watch list for the moment I prefer  using a popular wallet.

Samourai Wallet is open source so you can check on your own whether or not it is safe to use. Even though it is in beta, it has many advanced features which are not available on any other mobile wallet, for example, coin control, native SegWit support and Tor routing. They decided to focus on new features and security instead of Lightning Network support which is still in an early state. What a shame that they don't have any desktop software wallet. I am certain that actually many people would use it.

I got to know Mycelium from Mastering Bitcoin by Andreas Antonopoulos. I just wonder if Mycelium is still a good choice for mobile wallet.
Based on my personal experience, Mycellium is still a fairly good choice for mobile wallet, the android version anyway as the ios version is kinda buggy and does not allow you to connect to hardware wallets (Ledger and Trezor).

Please correct me if I am wrong. I think I saw there was some company internal drama going on somewhere. Any thoughts?
I presume you mean the whole the drama that happened due to the misappropriation of funds that was gathered during the Mycellium Token which led to one of their developers quitting Mycellium team.

Quote
Daniel Krawisz, a former backend developer, quit Mycelium after claiming to witness the misappropriation of the raised funds. “One of the first things they did when they sold these tokens is they kind of bought a vacation in [Spain] for all of the developers,” said Krawisz. “It was literally like a vacation because nobody did any work there. This is kind of why I decided to leave the company. I didn’t like that they were selling tokens in the first place, and then I didn’t like that they were immediately spending the money on a vacation.

I'm a big fan of Mycelium, having used it for about 3 years now--but I switched not too long ago to Greenbits, because that wallet supports segwit.

One of the biggest problems Mycelium has is that you can't customize the network fees.  Yes there are options, but there's a limit of how low you can go.  Last year when fees were off the charts, I had funds basically stuck in Mycelium because it was too expensive to send anything.  Still, I think it's a fantastic wallet and I wish the developers were still active.

Didn't they change this a while ago? Now there is a slide that ranges from 1 sat/byte to a higher number that guarantees your transaction in the next block (with a little bit of overpay, obviously)

One of the biggest problems Mycelium has is that you can't customize the network fees.  Yes there are options, but there's a limit of how low you can go.
The minimum it allows now is 1 sat/byte. That's as low as any Bitcoin transaction can go.
But, when fees were higher, the minimum was higher than this too. I prefer to be in full control, let me decide how long I want to be waiting for my confirmations.

Quote
Last year when fees were off the charts, I had funds basically stuck in Mycelium because it was too expensive to send anything.
At some point I've been exporting keys to be able to use a lower fee. Later on, they added the option to adjust fees.

I didn't know they're inactive. I get the occasional update from Google Play.

They aren't.
They did update the app a few days ago. And a few weeks / a month ago they have released the first 'module' (unfortunately the bcash module).
But i am pretty sure they said segwit is the next 'big' update to come.

I am still using mycelium as my only btc mobile wallet. Didn't have any problems with it yet.

Honestly... the mobile version of Electrum is quite limited and somewhat buggy. In my experience the UI is a bit flaky and I've had it crash quite a few times. Additionally, the app itself is quite feature limited compared to the desktop one. It's more of a "companion" app that will allow you to spend/receive a few coins should you need to while on the go.

For now only GreenAddress for IOS would be the best choice for iPhone because my friend of mine use this wallet without any issues.

There is no backup seed phrase option on electrum mobile but you can backup only the private keys but still electrum wallet in mobile still works fine to me without any issue just make sure that you save your seed phrase on the piece of paper for future recovery

There is... you tap the wallet name at the top:

Then you click the "Show Seed" button and the seed is displayed:

One more thing to note about mobile version of Electrum. You cannot restore BIP39 seeds in Electrum Mobile... it will only accept Electrum seeds.
