Hello, my name's Will - I'm building a platform that provides on-demand information about Bitcoin whether it be via reports, forecasting, modeling, news, regulatory changes, etc. - but need feedback from you all on what you all would want most. What kind of reporting info would be most helpful to you all?

A clear, simple, wiki-like updatable, by-country listing of [regulation; online exchanges; irl options to buy; merchants], to help make those Bitcoin services visible.
Somewhere that merchants will want to register their detail because it's the go-to platform - perhaps an automated search for ~"Bitcoin offered here" plus manual contributions.

and a news feed, that's reliable quality.

Keep it simple, keep it focused on Bitcoin only for now.

Perhaps also have a ABC FAQ walk through and example videos etc of real life use of Bitcoin.

Lists of which mobile devices work well with the apps and which do not (Andriod 2.2.2 not so much for example but 2.3 ok)

Perhaps also provide a clear description of the wallet options and the advantages and disadvantages of each.. and perhaps detail that wallets are private keys and keeping those safe is critical.. suggest how to move the wallet.dat; encrypt it, to help avoid issues with weak OS' like Windows.

This is awesome feedback - thanks David. When you consider these features, which if any do you think you would be willing to pay for having access to?

Right now I'm considering offering this information for free to consumers, but as a compliance tool for institutions and businesses to utilize Bitcoin in a compliant, legal, and accountable way. If you have .02 on this idea as well would love your feedback.

If one can not confer upon another a right which he does not himself first possess, by what means does the state derive the right to engage in behaviors from which the public is prohibited?

Haha, thanks for your feedback. This is the most frequent response I've received across various channels so far. When I figure this out I guess it would be a good idea to start manufacturing crystal balls, too. Smiley

I wouldn't be willing to pay unless it was a proven one of a kind reference.

For compliance and specialist services I expect would be case specific, and companies would fork out for something that was evidently skilled delivery from lawyers etc; so you charge professional fees for service for that.

For the providing information that's useful and necessarily a goto for everyone interested in Bitcoin, I expect that would have to be free to access, at least initially. You could certainly get away with paid advertising and prime placement in any listings.. text by default and eye-catching image etc for a fee. For free might draw the critical mass obviously.
