A lot of self airdrops nowadays are everywhere. It is a form of airdrop where you need to send 0 or a certain amount of eth in able to receive the token.
Do you think this is better than traditional Airdrop ? I wanna know your thoughts community.

For me, it has advantage and disadvantage. The advantage of doing selfdrops is, you can be able to receive the token immediately. The disadvantage of it in my opinion is, you need to spend on gas. So people that does not have anything in the first place will not be able to participate, even though gas is not that expensive a lot of people does not know yet how to load their mews using fiat, that is why for me they are at disadvantage in terms of doing self drops.

I've never seen anything like it. If you send 0 and only pay for the transaction, that's fine. But if you want to transfer a certain amount of ETH, it is not airdrop, but most likely cheating people. Tokens that cost nothing can easily be created by any student.

I don't like airdrop so in this case I have never done anything, even if there is a bounty that is accompanied
by airdrop I just go with the bounty not on the airdrop.

I've given up on airdrops, because they're a waste of quality time and resources. Airdrops that require you to pay certain amounts or send 0 ETH to a contract address are selfdrops. I'm seen quite a number of them, but never participated

I think self drop is an amazing way of distributing token.  The issue however with self drop is the gas fee or transaction fee and the fact that many self drop never make it to the market and the owner of the project may abandon the project while the recipient hold useless token!

it's experience or suggestion ?
I am not too observing for an airdrop program that is told to send ETH or gas, because I think the legit level is very low
I prefer to buy via ICO with legit levels that are said to be better

I have seen some of these self airdrops but I also did not participated. As soon as I see, send I start to think about scams.Even if it sending an amount of zero, I can't shake the feeling of getting scammed.Maybe it is just me.If there is a successfull example I will start to rethink this.

The very first one I participated was very successful and that was ENU and the information was here on this forum, I had never believed it just like others then doubted it but being that it costs almost nothing, I participated with my other eth address and in total was worth around $800 though price dropped at certain point before I sold off

Whoever wants to get anything from any project, either selfdrop or airdrop, should know how to go about it and if the person does nit know, i believe he was introduced to the cryptospace by someone, you can just ask the person how it is done.
Most of those i introduced to cryptocurrency, i ensured that i gave them gas fee of at least $2 and tutored them until they were able to do things on their own

I think that selfdrop has the right to exist, but the profit is very small. Out of 100 selfdrops, perhaps 1-2 will bring profit.  I know only 2 successful selfdrops: Enu and SiaCashCoin (SCC).

This kind of airdrops should be seriously discouraged. They only contribute to congest the network with useless and unnecessary transactions.

I am very wary of airdrops and try not to participate in them. I can participate only if the project is of interest to me. But I wouldn't trust such airdrop where also it is necessary to pay. Let the price is small, but still.

I have also participated in airdrops and if I want to be seen from how to follow it is better but I feel the results have not been encouraging and at that time I have rarely followed again, has there been a change now? , I don't know yet.

They both have disadvantaged and advantages,if the airdrop is genuine then is of advantage but we have too many airdrop that are worthless. There are times that selfdrop can be very ok if it us able to make it to the exchange because that is a major disadvantage of self drop.

Personally I have never done the thing you mentioned. What I know is that participating in airdrop is by registering on the form provided. For self-airdrop like you said, you haven't implemented that kind of thing, because like you said if people don't have eth for gas costs, that means people can't participate. For those of you who want to participate in this self drop, I suggest that it is better to look for airdrop, which only registers or shares projects that do airdrop.

I've seen a project like that but its an ETH based game, I thought I could get the bonus right away but I need a gas to send 0eth before receiving it.
Well, it's still free but unluckily it's not available for 0balanced members.

I have participated in this kind of airdrop. Tell the truth. They are often worthless. When they are listed on the exchange. It will be sold. And then there's no value at all. Such airdrops tend to occupy ETH resources. Increase fuel costs to block transfer channels.
