this is amazing as day in and day out several people and countries come to embrace the benefits of blockchain technology. This is a good start in kenya and i hope other countries would also follow suit so that the legalization of bitcoin would surely be a success.

This is a very big news that was waiting for a lot of people in The African continent. Now this should not stop. There are still a lot of countries in which there are no ATMs, and there is not even an exchange where you can buy or sell Bitcoins. UAE, KENYA - what will be the next country?

Still pretty good news, even though I really really dislike purchasing on bitcoin ATM machines due to the overkill fees. At least they have a way of buying bitcoin anonymously, I guess? (Depending if the bitcoin ATM machines have surveillance cameras on them or not)

It is good to know, Bitcoin helped a poor country and I believe that bitcoin can help some poor country to become rich using cryptocurrency. It is based on how knowledge you have and how business minded you are. If one county that uses crypto then they cooperate to each other then it could be great because some money of other country must get by some poor, the tendency was the rich one do loss money into a poor because crypto was for the whole world. If you don't enough knowledge about investing on some good coin or any investment on crypto, then you lose.

At least you have an ATM machine around you and you know how it feels to work with it being the crypto machine! Must be great feeling while entering into it and coming out with crypto based transaction. We have no such place in my country and there are sarcastically more users of it but government is unable to process any law regarding that one. I think over the time fees may get reduced the same way we pay for the fiat ATM's. Its just about the time when user base will get more and more prompt for such ATM's and it will help grow it.

I sure hope so. I personally think the only way to get the fees/cuts lessened is to have increased competition. If buying bitcoin through ATMs becomes so hot that lots of companies release their own ATMs, they would want to lower their cuts to have competitive prices.

Such a great news, this is what you can only get from a country that doesn't see Bitcoin as a threat to it's financial system rather as a development. I hope other African countries will start thinking in that direction.

not always an investor must HODL, because it could be bitcoin prices will not rise again. HODL is only for par investor (investor who does not use the main asset in his investment)

If a developing country like Kenya can have a bitcoin ATM, there’s no reason for other nations not to have one. I guess their leaders know what’s good for their country.

It is a good news if it is true. Somehow we can consider it as a development towards cryptocurrency. It is not an easy way to do but someday it will slowly be adopting the digital currencies, it will only start as that.

Totally agree, I wish bitcoin atm implementation will be much greater worldwide so everyone can have an easy outlet to get their hands on some corn. I think Africa has been overlooked as a massive potential market for crypto, there's a lot of wealth around there contrary to popular belief, and I think marketing efforts should target and include that continent more.

Well done to Kenya, anyone here tried that machine? I'll admit I was sceptical about these ATMs. Chiefly because of the high fees, and the fact you've to go out in public to buy them. Still not sure I like the idea of buying Bitcoin out in the open (never tried it myself). Also not sure where the appeal is coming from when it seems far easier/safer/cheaper to buy p2p.
But with the numbers of them growing all over the world, and in some of the weirdest places, I suppose they're making money after all. The two that opened in my country in 2014 eventually closed down and were never replaced. Maybe the world is finally ready for them.
