Well, if people offer products for BTC and accept BTC for services, we will see a bull run. I don't think Russia is against BTC or crypto in general as much as other govt. like India or China.

Also, the whole sportsbook and anonymous betting can be easily done through BTC so thats a plus.

no Russia is not against bitcoin at all but they are not exactly for it either. if it was Japan then there was a very different story there. we could have seen a huge rise because of the thousands of merchants that are already accepting bitcoin payments there. but in Russia we don't have the same thing.

the betting thing was interesting although i do not think it can affect the price.

As we know Russia is not against bitcoin but it doesn’t mean that bitcoin trading is 100% legal there.
In this situation traders can find a friendly atmosphere for bitcoin trading during the world cup & they can provide services against Bitcoin, if the community accepts it than it will open the door in new era & give a huge pump to bitcoin.

Does this have to do with betting/gambling at all? I don't 100% see how the world cup would have much to do with the bitcoin price, much less people's involvement in bitcoin besides this. Even if people do bet and all that jazz, it's not really going to affect the bitcoin price. If anything, I'd suspect the bitcoin price would rise before bets get placed because people are buying bitcoin to bet with, but even that's too far of a stretch. I highly doubt that the price will rise because of the world cup. Maybe due to other reasons, but not solely the world cup.

This area is up for grabs! PM me if you're interested.

I think it wouldn't really affect the market because online betting using bitcoin is a common thing even way back in 2016. Nevertheless, let's say that most of those who would like to bet on it use bitcoin as a medium for betting. For sure price will rise a little but not so much that it would reach 9800$. Even if that is the case, I expect that bitcoin price would go back to normal after the football world championship after those who won the bet sold it.

I do not see any connection between bitcoin and the 2018 world Cup in Russia. The price of bitcoin will not change. Popularity will not become more. Russia is not a country that welcomes the spread of bitcoin. In order for bitcoin to get a new impetus to popularity, it is necessary that large trading platforms begin to accept it for payment.

That’s a good idea, a small work for each of us will truly help spreading bitcoin word to the world. I can’t be at that place to do it by my own, so basically will wait for someone to volunteer. Bitcoin betting can penetrate in this tournament, but need to have a much trusted company to do this job and announced it in advance. There is still time.

if you want to stay in russia at the wm you can often pay with btc and ethereum. private people do it that way. and there are more and more there

crypto news wrote:

The acceptance of Bitcoin is rising and rising, even despite the current price weakness. Another indication is the offer of many hotels in the Russian Kaliningrad. There they declared that they would accept Bitcoin as a means of payment during the 2018 World Cup. Kaliningrad is one of the venues for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Four games will be held in the Kaliningrad stadium, with the match between Belgium and England, two favorites in the tournament, the highlight.

Haha who said that? No, I couldn't see any correlation between Bitcoin price and World Cup at all. What explanation do you have in mind?

The final will be a month from now. A lot of price action could take place within a month, so yes, a rise could potentially happen especially after a fall like this but it'll have nothing to do with the World Cup.

I see little to no correlation between the world cup and bitcoin, if anything I would say a slight negative correlation but it would be ineligible, that would be because some people may be spending on the world cup money that they would otherwise invest. Your prediction could come true but not because of the world cup. Unless you know something we all do not.

Maybe it can contribute a little IMO. If the Bitcoin community make some friendly gambling and if the big whales will get to involved then probably we can see some price movement.

We just had winter Olympics in South Korea that is very favorable of Bitcoin same as Japan. I expected lots would happen but it did not and was total disappointment to me. I guess we will have to wait for after next bubble games, so in Beijing 2022 or summer Olympics in Tokio 2020 or 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Maybe they will start awarding Bitcoin medal instead of Gold, since Bitcoin is digital Gold Tongue

Nice one as that would really generate some media attention a lot and simply would create some huge awareness since this is a global thing. One way to go. It would have actually been swift if such a thing were to happen in Japan. If some bitcoin whales think about promoting bitcoins in such a world event then that would definitely help bitcoin to get promoted to many new people which may even end up bitcoin being adopted by them.

Still, I feel it is too early to start thinking how the betting/sport book thing will have an effect in Russia, but I do not think it would have that much huge effect either looking at the fact that Russia does not simply stand on any ground when it comes to cryptocurrency.

I don't think the is a co relation with World cup football and Bitcoin price. There might be a change in price but not as expected by you. The price of Bitcoin will rise or fall based on many reasons like demand and supply and I don't think World cup football will create that much demand. If demand is not as expected then supply also will be stagnant.

I will go for the price of $9000, and that is, if it will ever rise so quickly. The world cup is on and the price of bitcoin may rise as a result of purchasing from those who might want to use them for betting or gambling. But I am still on the doubt if it will happen. Probably, also, the price may rise to the price of $7000 but I am seriously hoping it reaches to $9000. But let's not be too sure of this prediction. There is a likehood that it may not happen.

What co-relation does FIFA has with Bitcoin?

The Russia legalizing Bitcoin can be taken as a good news which might bring a short term pump which is not really expected in this market situation. But I don't think FIFA has anything to do with it. FIFA might increase the revenue of betting sites. There are countries where betting is ban. In such countries, cyptocurrencies might be used for betting and this can have some minimal effect. But nothing to a level that it can take price to $9800.

I hope it will rise but I do not see any good reason  for it, the world cup is an event and to have any impact on BTC price someone need to take advantage of this event, saying it will rise just because Russia is not against BTC is not enough or even a good reason .
