I'm selling up to $1,000 Mt Gox USD, no trust required. The accepted payment method is MoneyPak which one can buy in the US at Walmart, Walgreens, 7-Eleven, etc There is no fee on the trade, just a plain 1:1 exchange rate. I'll rate you in the List of honest traders and on OTC, if you want. This is an inexpensive way for someone to buy a lot of Bitcoins, or for several someones to buy small quantities. Email coinpal@ndrix.com if you're interested. PM in the forum works OK too, but you may get a slower response.

How would this be preferred versus simply sending an ACH or wire payment to MtGox?
|
Companies claiming they got hacked and lost your coins sounds like fraud so perfect it could be called fashionable. I never believe them. If I ever experience the misfortune of a real intrusion, I declare I have been honest about the way I have managed the keys in Casascius Coins. I maintain no ability to recover or reproduce the keys, not even under limitless duress or total intrusion. Remember that trusting strangers with your coins without any recourse is, as a matter of principle, not a best practice. Don't keep coins online. Use paper or hardware wallets instead.

Depending on your bank, ACH may also be slower. My bank takes 4-6 business days for ACH to clear.
For those without bank accounts, wire and ACH may not be possible at all.

He is selling dollars for dollars. 1 to 1 is a fair price.

Also note two moneypaks would have to be purchased, as I'm almost positive they allow a max of 500 on each card. Each card is $5, so $10 for exchange overall.
Good idea though, I'd like to see more people accept moneypaks. Very easy for most people to find in their local store, and you just pay cash for it at the register, get on the internet and send the code you receive to the recipient. Voila

This is a fantastic way of buying Bitcoins. Am I correct in assuming that MoneyPak is anonymous? According to their website, you only need to divulge personal information if you fund a PayPal account with more than $250 per year.
Also, the MoneyPak site says that it costs $4.95 or less. When is it less?

Whenever I've purchased MoneyPak, it's been completely anonymous. The store clerk took the cash and handed me the card. There were never any questions asked or paperwork to fill out. Also, the MoneyPak site says that it costs $4.95 or less. When is it less?
It's always been $4.95 for me

It's always been $4.95 for me I can confirm both of these things about MoneyPak. Additionally, from the MoneyPak site: You can add any amount from $20 to $500 onto a MoneyPak at most retailers. You can add up to $1,100 at Walmart. How much money can I fund my PayPal account using MoneyPak? Your starting limit is $250 a year. You can fund up to $2,000 a month by providing your name, address, date of birth and Social Security Number. Green Dot will collect, verify and record this information on behalf of PayPal. This information WILL NOT be used for a credit check or marketing purposes.

A buyer asked a good question that I thought I'd repost here for all to see. I realize that many people haven't used MoneyPak before and may not be familiar with how they work.
Q: Once I buy the MoneyPak, do I need to mail it to you?
A: No. The MoneyPak has a number on the back under a scratch off layer. You email me the number. I enter it into my PayPal account and then send you the Bitcoins.
