moonbit.co.in

My antivirus program finds code of PUA/CryptoMiner.Gen every time I open the Moon Bitcoin website.
This has been going on for the last month or so.

in site:
mining bonus
When you tick the Run mining bonus checkbox we will run a background POW mining process in your browser.
Later when you make a faucet claim we will calculate an extra bonus of up to 100% on your faucet claim!
The bonus amount is based on how much hashing power you have contributed while the mining process was running, so to maximize your bonus you must leave the Moon Bitcoin tab open in between claims!

PLEASE NOTE: This mining process will increase the CPU usage on your PC/device whilst it is running by 10-80% (depending on the selected CPU usage option). The mining bonus is completely optional so if it causes a problem for you then please turn it off by unticking the Run mining bonus checkbox.

It's probably related to the browser mining software they're using.
It's more like a false positive, than a virus.

There are many sites that use such software and are being flagged by anti-viruses.

You can simply allow it go through your firewall without (I think) allowing it use any computing resources from your machine.

Thanks for the answers.

I assumed it was from one of the ads on the site. The mining bonus has been live for several months and the antivirus warnings only started a month ago. But you're probably right and it's a false positive.
