Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Australia is placed on number one in my watchlist when it comes to the crypto industry. I appreciate the efforts of Australia to introduce crypto and blockchain to the young breed in their academic curriculum. Now, this thing is a step forward to attract the global audience and building the environment that is crypto friendly. Such pilot model is definitely going to influence the future crypto hubs across the globe.

It is good to see the good news from Australia that block chain technology is really promising in the tourism industry. If everyone uses bitcoin at the time of travel, it will make the tourism industry more cooperative, and it will be more convenient for people to travel.

I just bought a number of online courses with bitcoin. have to go with a lot of discussion with the content creator but it's worth it. A very good idea and happy to see people take the initiative, hoping that such services will be launched in my country too.

It's good to see people really help cryptocurrencies adoption to grow. The TravelbyBIt company that the city use is a good use case for others merchant to easily adopt cryptocurrencies to their business. I wish a company like that keeps growing, and the mainstream confident about Bitcoin usage starting to rise.

i think the travelers in that city will happy because of this they don't need to exchange their local currency at the airport or the exchanger because they can use the bitcoin as the currency in that city, with the international rate (bitcoin rate) it will more easy to tourist to use the bitcoin for some payment

Wonderful! I truly enjoy reading/encountering stories featuring the practical use of crypto. If Australia can do it, I’m sure the rest of us can do so as well.

That is good. Bitcoin has become relieved in Australia, the government does not prohibit payments using Bitcoin, so it can support many business sectors to be able to see opportunities to promote Bitcoin and get wide world attention, because Bitcoin has become mainstream so foreign tourists who have Bitcoin can also be used in that country .

More than 30 business outlets in Agnes Water and the City of 1770 in Central Queensland are currently receiving crypto currency as a means of payment. People in the coastal city call themselves the first "digital currency-friendly" tourist city in Australia.

The goal is to attract an international tourist market niche, which can pay for various products and services with digital currencies such as bitcoins that can be converted to Australian dollars.

Local real estate agent Gordon Christian said he had gained the support of local entrepreneurs to embrace digital currency technology into their city to boost key industries in their region of tourism.

Gordon Christian said the strategy was aimed at attracting more tourists to the area and attracting tourist alternatives.
it's very good idea and im really interested like that project
and i hope and I hope more traveling companies allow bitcoin as a payment instrument

This is one best thing when a country totally adapted and accepted cryptocurrency.because embracing this technology means future for their people.i wonder when will the world learned about this

And when will they accept this for the future of the universe, the more they ignore this community is the harder the economy grows

I'm surprised I haven't come across this before. The project did manage to get a decent media coverage:

https://www.gladstoneobserver.com.au/news/agnes-water-first-town-in-australia-to-embrace-dig/3430828/
http://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-06-03/australias-first-digital-currency-friendly-town/9828306
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5799951/Queenslands-Agnes-Water-beach-town-pay-holiday-bitcoin.html

That, on its own, is some marketing success (for such a small town).
I've never heard about the payment processor TravelByBit, if legit - they're doing a great work.

I hadn't heard of this either. I think it's a great idea. It's also a great sign. I think it can be sort of a local tourist attraction. Some people may even come and buy Bitcoin just to give it a try in this city. Sort of like people go to Vegas and buy casino chips. I think every little bit can help to get people more comfortable with crypto. I love the name TravelByBit too. Good on the Australians! Hopefully we see more of this in other countries too.

Really?Australian government has this lots of positivity to cryptocurrency?this is something we must be proud and wish that one day our own government do the same treatment to the benfits crypto can give

My country has no policy towards bitcoin but still no proper adaptation so the businesses cant offer this thing but i know sooner even employees compensation may be done with cryptocurrency
