I am using wallet version 0.8.6.5 which is what the website has. Block explorer says latest version is 0.8.75.
Question is where do I find that version?

I am having trouble getting wallet to sync. Keeps telling me that either I or the nodes are out of date and need to upgrade:

My addnodes in the conf file are the nodes taken from the block explorer nodelist for 8.7.5.

Can not sync past block 636559 of 686739.

Hi, is there something up with the blockchain.

It says "Current Number of Blocks 691486"
And
"Estimated total blocks  790871"

And then goes into "0" block non-syncing stuckness Huh

I use

rpcuser=karmaname
rpcpassword=karmapass
rpcport=9432
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
daemon=1
server=1
addnode=54.234.181.73:9432
addnode=204.246.67.106:9432
addnode=188.165.2.147:9432
addnode=23.254.97.16:9432
addnode=188.226.177.232:9432
addnode=68.5.34.219:9432
addnode=92.222.38.197:9432
addnode=209.188.18.188:9432

Is there a way to repair ?

the last 2 peers I believe are the culprits affecting the sync.
Anyway to delete them?   They are not  in my conf.
I've tried deleting chain and re-syncing and end up get stuck in same spot.
I've got coin coming in that can't get in.

Is there a market place for KARM coin?

What can I do with my +15mi karm?

What about an exchange of KARMA:2GIVE ?

I pinged CryptoWho last week about this...

I'd like to gauge the sentiment for pursuing an exchange vehicle of KARMA:2GIVE -- there is an Australian exchange that might be interested in hosting it....I already asked Bittrex and they said "no way" :p

2GIVE is the Version 2.0 of Givecoin, a similar pro social coinbase that Strength in Numbers Foundation a non-profit digital trust took over development support for in 2015.   The active development is culminating in a coin swap on Bittrex next week, where all V1 holders of record there will be converted to 2GIVE.

Details here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=741714.0

The whitepaper/value proposition is here:

With daily updates posted on FB:

We have been in deep talks with several other ALTs, namely WATER (Clean Water Coin) about doing the same.

Before reporting this as "SPAM" please have an open dialogue about it...

I'd like to cordially invite you all to consider a "reverse-merger" into 2GIVE the new POS/POW Givecoin 2.0 crypto that is easy to mine in the wallet to compete for the 1% TXFEE block rewards!

NOW LIVE ON BITTREX & BTCpool.exchange

We are already extended offers to both CleanWaterCoin (WATER), PreMinedPlus (PMP) & Catcoin (CAT) communities and already have a half dozen new members in the last couple of days.

If anything, we'd welcome the additional help with our "air drop" that is going on right now.

Thanks for your time and consideration.

If you're interested, download the 2GIVE wallet and PM me your Give* address and I will create a KARM addr for you to send coins to -- once confirmed I'll send 2GIVE back to you 10,000:1 exchange ratio.

It's just that simple!

The BTCtalk forum has this automatic restriction on who can vote, usually the newly created accounts cannot do so, this is so to avoid SPAM account creation just to influence a poll.
As for your case, you can instead post YOUR opinion of the matter by posting on the thread, it will then be known to everyone whether you personally support the move or not.

Just noticed on my 30th post the Submit Vote appeared and I was promoted from "Newbie" to "Jr. Member" status. Hooray for me!

I will certainly cast my vote and am flattered that anyone would be interested in what a newly minted 30-post Jr Member has to say but here goes:

On one hand I put alot of stock in:
a) v0.8.6.5-beta QT dormant on my desktop for 46 weeks firing-up, finding a bunch of peers and fully syncing within a day
b) seemingly active (albeit small cap) market on Cryptotpia with quickly confirming withdrawals to my QT wallet
c) active explorer on Chainz

.. which to me means there's interest in keeping the coinbase alive.

On the other hand watching the blockchain I learned of the 10K per min emission dilemma (I read "mining bug") that needs to be solved and with no active Dev in sight there's little hope of getting out of litoshi-land where at current exchange of 167 lito per sat the 15 lito Karma is less than 1/10 of the way towards 1 sat, and the 10K per min thing isn't helping.

Also, sitting on some xcp from my early days I was pleasant surprised to see xcp recent price so I successfully revisited my counterwallet and am ready to go if/when the Karmatoken exchange happens. Either way I've always been intrigued by the charitable aspect so welcome the emergence of platform/community geared towards that aspect of crypto.

Full disclosure, I'm a small holder, suffice to say not in the 50M+ club, so I know others have a bigger stake, so if you've reached this point in my post thanks for reading.

what news?  the main guy passed on a 2 or 3 million dollar offer to sell the coin to another company who wanted to buy one of their main projects, then the main guy just disappeared.   im lucky i got rid of my 10 million or so and traded them all in for another altcoin.  it pissed everyone off.  had high hopes.  i think greed got to the best of him.

Our team obtained many of the cryptocurrencies that were frozen on Cryptsy's servers when the exchange collapsed. The Karmacoin wallet.dat was among those recovered.

We are now in the process of giving these wallet files back to their respective communities. The wallet has not been inspected and it's unknown if it contains any coins. If you are a developer of this coin, or a longstanding community member, you can file a request for the wallet in this thread: https://www.gldtalk.org/index.php?topic=3789.0

This is completely incorrect. Please re-read the threads.

There was no offer for the coin. Of course, the coin was never for sale (!)

However, we did have a number of projects that were being worked on. For one, I went to France to meet with a potential buyer/investor.

Greed? I still have my coins. How about you? Smiley

If there are no objections, I plan to claim the wallet and use it for bounties to get this coin going again. We need devs, updates, a new wallet, etc.

(If the community can trust me to hold - and safely return every single one - billions of their coins in 2014, then I think I can be trusted with a wallet with perhaps the same amount of coins)

In addition to the coins from the Crypsty wallet (or lieu of; I'm not sure how it will work) I would like to donate 100-500,000,000 coins to the re-launching of this coin. These would be used as bounties for a new wallet and people get to work on other things we need (like getting onto exchanges)

Karmacoin is still alive on Facebook. At least 3-6 people a week visit the page and 'like it'. The idea of a "doing good" coin seems to resonate with people. I would like to help get this coin back on its feet.

We can do this.
