Back around January 21st the Dogecoin reached up pass .000002. Recently there was news that the original cap at 100 billion coins was being lifted due to the coding of the coin itself not letting them to be able to enact the cap. This caused a ton of people to start dumping their Dogecoins into the exchanges making the price drop dramatically.

The fact there will be no limit on how many coins there will be in the market is not entirely a bad thing. Newcomers, like myself, will be able to get into cryptocurrencies late into the game. We will be able to mine and get whole coins. Receiving full coins will make the miner feel like they accomplished more.

Even though the supply of Dogecoins is going to increase every year and not stop does not mean the coin will be completely worthless. To combat the supply increase and price decrease, you need to increase the demand to increase the price.

My idea to increase the demand in Dogecoin is to give owners of the coin more opportunities to use this coin. What better than to give them more opportunities to use it. I would like to make a site like addictinggames.com or facebook.com where you can play games. On Facebook, you are able to use a currency to play games or even to get stuff in the games. People that want their game to be on the site will pay a fee of a certain amount of BTC and the website will get a percentage of profit made by the game each month to help keep the website running and to make it better.

This website idea would make people to actually buy Dogecoin to be able to play the games. This in-turn will make the demand for Dogecoin go up and increase the price of it.

If you are interested in actually using a site like this please reply to this thread. If you would be interested in investing or you are good at creating things with Java, I would also like you to reply to this thread.

I will try to reply to everything on this tread as soon as I can. Unless you are reading this a year from when this thread was posted. By then this idea has either went no where or is currently already up and running.

how about devs just come out and say they messed up and put cap on the coin

we need investors and whales who can sustain the supply of 700m being mined each day

if not this coin is going back down to 50 satoshi and staying there for months which will kill all the hype the coin has (its already dying just due to this crash)

we need a higher price right now to attract more people not crush the price right in its infancy

Why Java? HTML5 is what all the kids are doing now. It's more accessible. So much that it's even moving out of the web and into software categories like mobile and desktop that Java was designed for, rather than the other way around which was how it used to work.

Note that it will be hard to actually gain a user-ship on a new site you just created, it takes a lot of time, luck and work to make something like a successful games website, let alone Facebook. Facebook games is mainstream only because it's attached to Facebook. It might be a more convenient approach to start with convincing current popular games sites to add Bitcoin as a feature. For example, bitcoin100.org is doing this with charities.

There are some little games already that only accept Bitcoin or Dogecoin. My favourite is blockchain-reaction.com for Bitcoin. Note that they have a small, targeted goal. Choosing a niche is how they can gain a following quick - being one thing well rather than all things badly. This sort of thing is easier and fun to create. There needs to be something that a user sees as differentiating the Dogecoin sites from the others - that they can only get from Dogecoin - simplicity and casualness of transactions, a unifying art scheme, innovative game-play or a genre of gameplay, etc. A large number of these, and some marketing around them, or a unifying website, would be great for spreading the coin around.

Anyway, I'm all for promoting coins to be used as an actual currency instead of just investment. So is the Doge community. So good luck!

It would be difficult to get mainstream games to hop on the cryptocurrency ship seeing that the market can be manipulated so easily.
