Hello , this is my very first post , ever .
I have been wanting to enter the mining community
For a while now and decided to take the gamble
With batch 2 of the z9 mini for $850.
This will be my very first miner.  I’m not looking for
The old ASIC v GPUs debate , just looking for some
Advise from more experienced people.
Any tips for setting up the device , which mining pool
Should I choose , can I use my Mac to set this up or
Should I buy a cheap windows unit ?
Can I connect the network cable directly into the back
Of the Mac that is connected to my wifi network or
Should I run a network cable directly from my modem?

Thankyou in advance, I realise some of these questions
Look quite stupid, but I’m a total noob with all
This .   But I’m having a go  Smiley

Awesome. Welcome to the mining pits. Good to see new fresh people interested in joining and playing the long game. Great choice on miner. Low power consumption and a popular algo.

This should be applicable: https://www.antminerdistribution.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/AntMiner-S9-Installation-Guide.pdf

Batch two of the Z9 may not be a good purchase (I purchased 1 batch 1 and 1 batch 2).

I plan to try and mine the equihash multiport on MPH. https://miningpoolhub.com/?page=gettingstarted

It takes a bit to understand how MPH is working so you may want to mine a pool where you mine one coin directly.  Also, it sounds like right now not every equihash pool is working with this miner, although I expect that to change by the time batch two gets sent out.

Here is a thread that talks about working pools.

Thanks for your kind words.
I hope it’s a great choice. I’ve been reading everything I can

MPH sounds interesting....
Is it more profitable?
Thanks for the info links
