We can't, we are screwed. I can feel the AI takeover that is going to happen already in about twenty years from now. We will remain ignorant, until it is too late  Undecided.

We lead our daily lives centered on machines, when we wake up in the morning to our smartphones,to offer makers to television 📺 the internet, which are all in some way connected,it is obvious that we so much lost in comfort technology brings whilst overlooking the the possible dangers they pose.
AI of late study human behavior patterns and try to modify Mobile applications and software's to suit human demand pattern without actually being fed with the necessary information to do these specifications. A futurist perspective can predict that these AIs and machines will rise up and take advantage of our over dependence on them to dictating our lives ...this however only a few can see hope it isn't too late

If we are not there yet it is just a matter of time we create a computer that will in turn create a super artificial intelligence to surpass anything we can ever dream of.

I read this book a few months ago and I am convinced its just a matter of time before this will happen in the near future.

Humans design these technologies so they must know how to control them. I think it's not so much as being controlled by technology, but more of the fact that human will be incredible dependent on these technologies. We are in the midst of a technical revolution ---so many news now about AI and VR and augmented reality applications. One day, we may actually be able to immerse ourselves in to a digital space.

Heck, even if it ends up just like ARIIA from Eagle Eye, it'll already have drastic consequences. "Your compliance is vital".  Grin

And ARIIA is still quite benevolent (minus the part where it wants to kill the president and hundreds more to install one it sees fit for the position).

Now imagine if it's some crazy nutjob AI like Ultron.

Or just turn of the power supply and prevent the machines from fixing it. We can run on food for fuel, they can't.

Of course, there should be fail-safes. They are only really becoming a threat because we're integrating them into every aspect of our lives.

ARIAA is a real boss, orchestrating (no pun intended) all of that. It's fascinating - and scary.

Technology, as part of our revolutionary and fast-pacing world, has become larger in size, higher in volume, and greater in function. It allows us to do things impossible before. It also makes our lives easy and less difficult since machines really can do anything and everything. And can possibly be more intelligent that human kind. And I think that since people are the ones who created technology, then what makes us afraid of the ones we have created with? I think that by now, we are in full control and power abpve the technologies we have constructed. However, I will not remove the possiblity that time would come, we will become slaves of those machines we have created to become slave of us.

There's possibility that thing can happen in the future. Nowadays we can't deny the continous growth of technology where it can program itself to do a job mlre efficient for us people. I believe one day that is possible where they can use their artificial intelligence (A.I) to produce more of them using a chip. And I think we will be living in the near future with all things that is made up of technologies.

It is hard to say, but it think we are near to that situation. People should start to think on ways to manage or control technology, specially A.I. it may be one of mans great inventions but it can be the reason of our greatest downfall. Come to think of it everything that is too much is bad, everything should be in moderation

Have you guys ever wondered if technology is just overhyped? I remember posting about the many uses of virtual reality (how it’s now being used in education, healthcare, etc). But I came across an article https://www.verdict.co.uk/virtual-reality-overhyped/
that basically says it’s overhyped. Maybe we’re just too excited about these technologies or are just wasting time being worried about its impact on society?

I am sure that these reports are exaggerated. I'm pretty sure that for decade people have been fantasizing over virtual reality and AI. I'll be happy when technology actually comes close to catching up to these ideas, but I don't think it will be as soon as some of these news articles would like you to think. Can you actually tell me of any time in your life with you have personally interacted with AI and been impressed? Maybe somebody's just doing a great job of hiding all this amazing technology, but the only times I've been close to being impressed by AI was during some official demonstrations. It's really hard to determine how much is scripted or actually really spontaneous interaction in these demonstrations. Even if the interactions are somewhat spontaneous, the developers know the limits of their product and, of course, they only show off the good points.

1) Technology is created by humans
2) Humans are generally stupid

Therefore technology is generally stupid  Grin

But seriously for all the times a tech I own doesn't work the way it's supposed to I'm not really worried about technology going too far (yet)

I'm not cool enough to have a fancy signature so you're stuck reading this
