Blockchain and Hashgraph

Blockchain has garnered much attention with the introduction of crypto currencies notably bitcoin. But I saw another distributed ledger technology called Hashgraph. What features set this apart from blockchain? In the event that Hashgraph becomes more popular and the limitations of blockchain becomes very pronounced, do you see bitcoin and other major cryprocurrencies transitioning to Hashgraph?
