A few months ago I had the opportunity to help Healthmonitor.pro team to raise around $500k for a small project based on an IP developed by the University of Novosibirsk.
In Russia, especially in Siberia, many IPs are not brought to market for missing funds: the local VC network is not as strong as in USA or EU and sanctions have further reduced the amount of money for investment.
So, what to do? Just to accept that some very interesting researches are not being developed on the market? We think differently and our past experience with Health Monitor proved that there is room for a coin to support promising scientific projects.
In few words, we are introducing a cryptocurrency to cover the special needs of the scientific projects. We are employing:
a) a crowdfunding platform (to get listed projects will have to go through a voting system and score high in our algorithm validation - we use past data to validate project % to be successful)
b) a freelancer platform
c) a learning environment
Our team is mostly based on talents from the Novosibirsk ecosystem (the largest research center in Russia). We were also able to secure a couple of partnerships with local institutions. Of course, our aim is to grow worldwide and that's why we need additional funds (mostly to pay for the marketing costs). We are already developing our platform in beta version and we plan to release the final version by Feb 19.
Token holders will get a 5% from all the sum raised through the platform plus something else from the freelancer platform and the learning environment.
Currently, we are in the pre-sale phase and we don't plan to do an ICO: we have invested highly our own funds and we are mostly looking big partners to help with marketing and promotions.
