I see people on this forum making important decisions based on poll results all the time.

Polls on this forum are not reliable for any purpose. If there is a gain to be had, most votes come from puppet accounts. Asking a poll for anything here will only answer one question for you: who has the most fake accounts.

You can't rely on voting results from an anonymous site where people can make infinite accounts.
