Hi,

I've read most of the last post and see Carlos is in unenviable situation.
I don't have there too much bitcoins (because I had afraid of similar issue, I always deposit only small amount) but lost of possible refs is a bit frustrating.

IMO shutting down is not the best solution, users and aslo you are loosing money (bitcoins) , I think you should run adbit.co #2, to satisfy hungry users, and meanwhile you can solve issues.

Hope you will solve this soon, I just would like to promote my links as soon as possible. It's very good site with brilliant idea.

Carlos you make a good job with AdBit, you can use that 10 BTC for start a new site, advertise it and buy server/hardware backup/change hosting.

Use that 10 BTC for start a better site. Is better a site with 1% fees but really popular and with a lot of advertisers. Use that money for start a biggest site.

Look quote Carlos.

Look quote, Carlos.

I think it must return the bitcoin advertisers

As a publisher since the beginning.

I would rather the BTC go back to the advertisers and get the service backup than anything else. There really isnt anything close to adbit.

AdBit.co will be up and running tonight or tomorrow morning.

This is what will happen:

All bids and statistics will be deleted. Some accounts, advertisements, websites, and adspaces will need to be registered again. All balances will be 0.

During the first 2 weeks the site will have 0% fees.

At the end of those 2 weeks:
- 7 BTC will be evenly distributed among all deposits made during that time;
- 3 BTC will be evenly distributed among all publishers earnings during that time;
- Fees will go back to normal;

This is the closest I got to a fair solution, please leave your feedback.

seems like only possible solution (without any records available).. I m just sorry i used to wait with withdrawals for larger amount accumulated Cheesy meh... good luck carlos!

I think this is a good compromise - certainly not perfect but probably the best you can offer in the circumstances.
Please get it up and running again as soon as you can. And once you have done so (don't worry about it immediately, just get it back up first!) please give us some assurances and details about what you are doing to avoid this happening again in the future. I think people will need this to get their confidence back in the system Smiley

Small change, thanks to Land of Bitcoin for pointing out a potential abuse.

During the first 2 weeks the site will have 0% normal fees.

At the end of those 2 weeks:
- 7 BTC will be evenly distributed among all deposits made spent during that time (unspent funds won't be accounted for the bonus);
- 3 BTC will be evenly distributed among all publishers earnings during that time;
- Fees will go back to normal down to 0% for 2 weeks;

I think you can use 2 of that BTC for advertise your site in BTCTalk so we can have more advertisers and all will earn more.

You forgot the part about implementing daily incremental backups, but otherwise, sounds like a best case scenario and a good plan.

I would have the site, or at least the transaction data backed up more than once per day. Missing even a few transactions in the case of another database corruption would still cause plenty of headache, and I really doubt the amount of transactions his site processes on a daily basis would take more than a minute or two to back up, provided it's done correctly.

However I don't think Carlos only have 10 BTC on deposit address.
When he wanted to sell the site some weeks ago, the site has 17 BTC on deposit. I think the site go better than a few months ago, maybe there are something like 20 or 30 BTC, not 10.

That's my opinion, but surely there are more than 10 BTC.
