Recently, McAfee said that he was going to run for POTUS. Of course he is a realist and knows he isn't going to win, but will try to spread awareness on Bitcoin during the campaign, unfortunately he will most likely pump a lot of shitcoins along the way too, but who cares, just imagine the price of Bitcoin with a him in the Whitehouse. What actual policies could he implement that would drive it to that price?

I suppose there might be tax cuts, lighter regulation, making it legal tender, encouraging more innovation, increasing privacy.

That might coincide with a collapse in tax revenues as more people dropped out of the regular economy. Soon enough the machinery of government would falter. That's ultimately got to be worth exploring but mom and pop wouldn't be best pleased.

1 million overnight won't happen even if mcafee sits in the white house though there is a decent chance that btc will hover around that price range during a mcafee presidential term. He's all about crypto, shitcoins and all so not only btc but the entire market would likely have massive growth.

What's the difference to the government where to take taxes. Now we see that the rules in the crypto-currency market are constantly being tightened. It seems to me that very soon every user of cryptocurrencies will not be able to hide their income in cryptocurrencies. The popularity of bitcoin does not depend on who will be the President. Only the economy.

I hope it does reach at that price really but i dont think it will be possible any time soon. For sure he will be screened and blocked by his colleaques in the political side specially those skiptics and critics of cryptocurrency in the whitehouse.

Having the president of the United States to constantly make positive tweets about Bitcoin would be enough to push the price to new ATH overnight. Just imagine if Trump said "Bitcoin is the future and it's going to $1,000,000", the market would go nuts and all in.

He doesn't even need to legislate, just a couple of tweets coming from the right people can pump the price. Of course this would be solidified with actual laws in favor of crypto, lower taxes and generally not making it a nightmare for investors would do.

according to Google the next US presidential election date is in 2020 (2 years from now) and he is advertising it now? to me this looks like another "i will eat my own dick on TV" episode which aims at gaining more public attention and probably he is going to increase the fee he takes for each tweet. what was it before $100k per tweet?

in any case i don't think McAfee is someone who really cares about bitcoin and what its future is going to be despite what he says. so even if he became president i don't suppose anything would change!

There is a FOMO brewing...

As considered one of the highest people recognized by the world, yes he can pushed up the price of bitcoin price in overnight but not to around $1,000,000 but enough to start a hype that can shake the market. It will be globally televised and will reached the attention of different people in different sector.

Why he can pushed bitcoin price that far? First of all, why he become elected? Surely he have some of platforms and agenda that majority agrees and have a fixed plan for much better development of the country. Therefore all that will came on his mouth will have an impact even for miscellaneous things.

But again, don't take my statement seriously and literally. We are just having a "what if" here so we will disregard those things that really will happened on the way.

Mcafee is so insane. He is such a character and I do find him quite funny, I love the guy. I mean, with the results of the last American election in mind, I could see how mcafee getting elected is a possibility now. Roll Eyes  But I just can't take him too seriously. Especially because when he made those crazy price predictions, he stated he was talking about BCH, not Bitcoin. Not only that, but the logic he used to predict the price seems to be fundamentally flawed. IIRC he said that he started at the last Bitcoin mined, and worked his way backward. He says that so much hashrate would be needed to mine the last coin, that it should be worth Billions in order to make it worth it for the miners. It seems like he didn't take into account the TX fees miners are paid out. I could be wrong of course, but that is how I interpreted what he was saying.

Now, with all of that being said... If he were to be elected president I do think we would see a huge pump to $150k

He got a bit evasive when asked to clarify whether he was talking about Bcash or BTC.

One thing that isn't mentioned all that often is the core of his one million dollar prediction is Bitcoin causing the dollar to radically devalue like every other nutter has for years on end. The dollar needs to get its skates on. Not much time left to crash.

Perhaps he could run an ICO to fund his campaign. Grin
No,he is not a realist,he is a clown.I don`t think that anybody takes him seriously.
Having a real crypto supporter in the Whitehouse would be great, but McAfee isn`t the right person to take such responsibility.

It depends on how much he stands to gain from it lol. I know I should probably be more supportive because he does aim for exposure, but I can't find it in me to trust a shill. If he goes where the money goes, what if the other "powers" he likes speaking of has enough money to buy him off?

But yeah, if we're speculating anyway, Trump's (not so subtle) tweets could send stocks up and down, so a direct endorsement from the POTUS himself should go a long way. Investors are going to rush in anticipating a boom. He could definitely reach the $1m prediction if he wanted to, though I don't think it'll happen overnight.

Well probably he would make bitcoin the official crypto of usa to replace the dollar so it is pretty safe to say that we would see a massive increase in price. However, mcafee will never be a president...

Yeah, he was being a bit evasive... Why do you think that is? Maybe he wants to stay relatively neutral? Didn't want to ruffle vers chicken feathers?

Oh yeah, I totally forgot about that too. I remember him saying it was the rapid devaluation of fiat currency which in part would cause the high price rise... Sounds to me like McAfee is going to have a full stomach at the end of December 2020... Also, it seems like he has started to backtrack a bit hahaha... Saying that the price will hit $500k if he becomes president in 2021. He contradicts himself way too many times to be taken seriously.

According to some stats I saw, if Bitcoin would raise as much as $1m, then it will make at least 100k+ individuals as a super wealthy people, owning more than $50m in assets and it will be quite a big competition to current elite. However, how many of them will sell at the price lower than that and how many hands it will go through. It is very hard to tell what one will do when BTC will be let's say $100k..

However, McAfee is most defiantly educating people about crypto, which is good for the community. If he will run for president campaign, how many new people will want to buy bitcoin, even hard to imagine.. then it will push the bitcoin to the Neptune over a short period of time

He has friends from both camps as far as I know, so I'm guessing not just Ver's feathers lol. I personally don't fault him for this though, because it's not like supporting Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash are mutually exclusive. Die hards certainly make it look like it, but it shouldn't be.

But yeah no one should take him seriously lol

I am not so sure about the "educating of people" part.
the way he has been advertising ICOs and even advertising some dead useless coins in order to pump them and make profit is more damaging than any kind of education that he might have given to others.
in my opinion McAfee has just increased the hype of bitcoin. he is famous for the high-price speculations after all and that will bring in hyped up people who want to become rich overnight. and that is another damage. I'm afraid if he runs for president we may see a lot more hyped up people who want to get rich fast in bitcoin!

Talk about speculation. Yes, I believe his latest bid will probably be his most successful, possibly even the most successful bid for any Libertarian candidate, but if you think Bitcoin friendly policies are what wins elections, you're probably a millennial, and probably never went to the polls before.

Election promises that propel candidates are those that speak clearest and loudest to voter issues on the ground. Believe me, these voters, even if they use Bitcoin, care about a lot of other non Bitcoin, non financial issues, but economic ones. Of course, Bitcoin brings a lot of benefits that could improve money matters, but it isn't the super panacea, not yet, to debt, unemployment, high cost of living, etc.

What I'm thinking is by connecting the dots with his prediction by betting that he's going to eat his own tool on national TV if bitcoin won't hit $1,000,000. He knew it from the start that he's no capable of doing it alone and he planned it to use the election by starting to campaign it accepted he won't win the race easily but instead using that popularity to spread awareness about bitcoin / cryptocurrency and blockchain. He thinks that it's a win-win situation for him, he lose the race, he wins by spreading crypto and increases the value of his portfolio but this is still a speculation.
