Myopia (nearsightedness) is becoming a major problem in today's world.  Many "professionals" will say its all genetic and there is nothing you can do.  This is a blatant lie, the eyesight problems of humans in modern civilization is entirely from misuse of our eyes.  Our ancestors didn't spend hours upon hours looking at screens  close to their face.  There have been studies done about eskimos regarding eyesight.  The parents that lived a natural life, virtually none of them had eyesight problems.  But whne schools were introduced for the kids myopia rates started to skyrocket..

The eyeglass/lasik/contacts industry makes billions of dollars per year so they are not interested in natural cures.  In some places like singapore the myopia rate is extremely high.  The worst places have rates over 80 percent.

I cured my own myopia simply by wearing weaker lenses and eventually not wearing glasses at all.  The most important thing is to challenge your vision and focus further away.  This did take awhile but you can feel the muscles in your eyes working to get stronger.

Wearing glasses is like using a wheel chair to move everyhwere. What will happen to your leg muscles when you roll around in a wheelchair? Your muscles will lose function!  It can be regained but it takes effort and time.

I nearsighted and for many years I didn't use glasses. It only got worse. So I don't know if glasses really messes them up. I also tried playing video games with an eye patch, to work my weaker eye. That didn't help much.

Myopa is often called nearsightedness, people can not see clearly writing, car plates, television, movies, long-distance traffic signs. For myopa patients will look blurry, for students who suffer from nearsightedness should use sunglasses according to size as a tool of vision and sitting in front of the class.

if also have Myopia. The best thing is to wear glasses, and many times glasses can make you seem sophisticated!

Although, nowadays there is cure. You can have a surgery with laser and the points of nearsightedness would eliminate.

I believe you are correct.  Your health is a factor of two things - nature and nurture.

Nature is your genetics... eyes have been evolving and getting better for a billion years.  There is no reason they suddenly would reverse.

Nurture is how you treat yourself - I've been starting at computer screens for 35 years now, and I just needed (yesterday) to get glasses - and just because of age.  I obviously have good DNA, as many others will damage their eyes just starting at computer screens for a couple years.

My optometrist told me yesterday that using glasses does not deteriorate your eyesight.  When people complain they can no longer see without glasses, it is because they have become accustomed to using the glasses.

This eye glasses also sometimes deals with the strength of the lens. There have been some circumstances where people have worn the glasses and it has corrected their myopia. Me for instance I had the same problem and now I dont wear any glasses anymore. This depends on how you will treat the eye and thats where the nurture sets in.

It is true. Myopia is becoming more common especially among the young generation because of the heavy usage of technology which puts an enormous amount of strain on our eyes. But I can tell you that wearing glasses all the time in fact contributes to the diseases so when possible is best to try to avoid wearing them.

This seems so out of place. It's similar to if the OP asked "Who likes apples," and some responded, "An apple is a fruit that is grown and eaten in many places around the world. Some people can eat it raw, or simply cook it..."

Proper care of eyes can prevent myopia. My relative is able to correct his vision by practicing yoga.

Here you can find an  informative article:
https://www.quora.com/Is-there-any-one-who-removed-his-her-eye-glasses-by-yoga-or-exercise-or-by-any-other-method

Make sure, if you have myopia, wear your glasses. Ignoring glasses make it worse. Get your eye checkup every six month to know about your vision progress (improving or deteriorating ).

Though I never visited an eye doctor yet, I have a strong intuition that I am a nearsighted person also. I say so because I can't read books that at least 2 feet away from me, I can't read the the news headlines in the bottom of TV screen and even recognizing the faces of my friends from far position is very difficult for me. I think this happened due from my computer games addiction since I was 15 years old. Now, I'm not a game addict anymore but a bitcoin addict Grin which means that my eyes are still getting damage from the harmful computer screens.

I'm glad that I found someone with the same perspective when it comes to this kind of matter. I also refuse to wear eyeglasses because I believe that the glass of its wearer becomes thicker and thicker as time goes by (but I'm not sure if this is a myth or not). I just let my eyes cure itself because I do believe that each body organ of our body has a defense mecahnism/immune system against its threats. What I do now to avoid further eye damage is I lessen the screen brightness of my smartphone everytime I used it., I also make sure that my room is well lighted before using such electronic devices and I also now starting to lessen the period of time when using a computer.

Nevertheless, I still have a plan of having an eye check up to know the real current condition of my eye but I think not now because I'm still busy with my thesis and I still don't have enough money for a proper medication Smiley.

I can definitely see how the progression from using computers, from desktop, to laptop, to tablet and now our phones (most of which are powerful computers as well) has created a shift with an increasing number of people requiring corrective lenses due to 'acquired', rather than 'inherited' myopia. Likely, if practiced regularly it can only be good to take more breaks and intentionally focus away, so on longer distances and if not just across the room -- take a walk and enjoy the landscape and surroundings outside for a bit and focus on something across the street.

Myopa is often called nearsightedness, people can not see clearly writing, car plates, television, movies, long-distance traffic signs. For myopa patients will look blurry, for students who suffer from nearsightedness should use sunglasses according to size as a tool of vision and sitting in front of the class.

Well the exception is the mention of writing in your first sentence. With nearsightedness, or myopia, one can see good up close as in for reading and writing, including doing work on the computer and your cell phone; all of which are the opposite for the farsighted person who will need corrective lenses for doing these tasks.
