ICO vs Venture Capital - Why does VC still exist in Crypto?

I was reading the figures around venture capital in the blockchain start-up world and was surprised to see how many projects were using VC rather than an ICO

I know that a VC can provide guidance and advice, but it seems to me that an ICO can bring significantly more money for no equity, money that can be used to buy guidance and advice

Why then do people continue to use VC?
