In this thread I would like to report merit abusers that I come across here often. Here is one suspected case to start with :

Members involved :

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1241585
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1781008

Reason for suspect :

a) Exchange of merits (though on small scale) : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;u=1241585

b) Both applied in same campaign recently and thus have same signature: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4505059

c) Usernames are: intoy_victor   and Daboy_Lyle which look similar

I will add more such cases as replies in this thread.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

What does that mean lol ?

b) Both applied in same campaign recently and thus have same signature: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4505059
Coincidental? Can it be?

The case is irrelevant. We want solid proofs and not random assumptions.Even though they're alts, the thread won't be taken seriously if you don't provide sufficient proofs. Please refrain from posting cases which you can't provide solid proof for.

Coincidental? Can it be?

That will apply to all abuse cases posted here then.

Sending merits for undeserving posts and also having similar username, isn't it too much of coincidence ?

In what way are the usernames similar?

Stop wasting everyone's time with this nonsense. Come back when you have proof.

Why did you left the url that followed that sentence ? It is hard to assume that it was by mistake as your profile is old here.

And, I am really sorry if I wasted your precious time.

I believe all DefaultTrust members have decided to only leave negative trust for obvious and blatant merit abuses cases. You have relied on extremely weak and circumstantial evidence, so I don't think anyone is going to take action against them.

taking a break - expect delayed responses

I left it out because you have 0 proof of anything and your accusation is literally "he got merits". Someone sent 5 merits to someone else. So what?

You're wasting your own time too. Nothing is going to happen unless you show proof.
